I've been driving around with my soft top now, and I love it! The black on green goes really well with the tube fenders I have on my Jeep. I haven't really done anything major to my Jeep either. I thought my seat track cable was busted, but it turns out my ammo box center console was in the way. So that's another $50 I can use to buy Jeep stuff!

I've been kind of bummed lately because of the lack of funds for stuff I need, like a tire carrier and a regear. So, I found some smaller things that I could afford to do on my Jeep. Like....
A rear tow hook
And put on new brake lines in the front. Tug was pulling to the right every once in a while, even after I changed my calipers. I figured then that new brake hoses were in order.
And here is a picture of Tug with the soft top on. It's SO much nicer to have this on in the summer rather than a hard top all year round.

While this does not improve my off-road capability at all, I saw this a long time ago and thought it was pretty cool. So I finally went ahead and installed some LED's in my dashboard.
Woot!

I saw this write-up and copied this guy.
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/ga...nstall-752937/
It's very easy to do. I bought the more expensive 74 bulb so I could still use the dim function on my Jeep. It cost me about $30 shipped. Hope that helps.

i have done all of that myself out of curiosity, the only thing holding me back is orange gauge needles. ive been monitoring junkyards locally, but a jeep rarely gets junked. would the jeep dealership be able to get some from the factory or something?

I don't think having orange needles would make any difference. The guy who did the write up has a 2004 Wrangler, just like you. So I really don't see any problem. I say give it a shot and see what happens. For $30 you really can't go wrong.

no disrespect, but that write up is not on a 04 tj unless its been modified. the gauge needles are white, and look at the AC control, its slides, not the rotary knob like the new ones. hazard knob is different too. jst sayin
probably this jeep: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/m...lue-tj-664110/
previous jeep, in his signature.

Ahhh, good point . I would just go for it if I were you. Like I said, it's a very inexpensive mod to try out, and if you don't like it you can put your old bulbs back in.

true, when i have a free day ill just try maybe removing a needle and use a blue light from something else held up to it and see how it reacts.

Nice looking Rig. I was worried when I saw the Honda first. I'm glad you converted to a Jeep. It is great looking. I like the Stinger, and flat fenders. Both look awesome! Just wait until you get a suspension lift on it, you will be looking for even more reasons to go off road.

So I was meaning to ask you, how do your 3.07s do with the 33s? I've been thinking about going to 33s when my 31s go bald, and then saving for bigger axles/4.56 or 4.88, and possibly 35s. Since you drive in the same areas as me, how bad is it?

It's livable, but I've been trying to save for a regear for a while now. Let's put it like this. My girlfriend has a Cherokee with 33's and 4.56's, and she has no problem getting onto the highway/getting up a small hill on 495. I on the other hand, keep it in 3rd and 4th gear more due to the big tires. It still moves, it's suitable for street use, and you can go with it for a while, but off-roading sucks with these gears. If you look at the pictures of me on Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod, one of the pictures I almost got stuck in 4-lo, and I nearly crapped myself. Sooooo....I'd try to go to bigger tires and regear at the same time.
