Got the rest of the axle stripped down. Removed the drivers side axle, hub, and knuckle.

Sold the 1.25" spacers to a buddy.

Cut the stupid teraflex 4 link mount off.

Much better.

Now I need to wire wheel the entire axle and prime/paint. Then once the gears I ordered from kolak get here it'll get sent off for a regear.

Cleaned up the front a bit more today.

I didn't know the rubi 44 had a diff drain under the pumpkin.

Need to figure out the superior tube seals. Anyone know how the inner seal is supposed to come out or how to get the outer seal to stay in?
I need to replace the inner seal bc its torn and the outer seal (which is still good I think) will not stay seated. It just sits in there with no resistance.

Got the steering shipped out on friday. also, stripped down a buddys spare d30 for the knuckle and 1310 yoke. Thanks Bart!

i have ordered the BM co-op tie rod flip kit and new Timken Unit bearings from Rock-auto. my new G2 Gears and install kit (timken) should be here this week from Kolak.

the only thing left to order for the front are new Spicer Ball joints (or other) and get the tube seals fixed on the passenger side. Probably need to replace the entire tube seal due to the outer seal spinning in the housing, as reccomended by Chad at Superior.

Not much progress tonight but i got the knuckles and yoke cleaned up a little and started tearing into the rear.

Got my tie rod flip kit in the mail. Very simple piece.

Got the timken wheel bearings in from rock auto. Next day shipping is impressive for standard shipping rates.
image-2204719757.jpg

Got the rear axles out and started cutting off the last few stock mounts and the coilover mounts from the previous owner.

Had a friendly reminder that brake parts cleaner is flammable and will ignite when using a grinder around it. Happened behind my back. It must have been burning for a little bit before I noticed the heat on my legs.

I'll let you know as soon as we set a date for install. Hopefully you and Amy can come down and the girls can keep themselves busy while the men folk work at the garage.

Sounds like a good time to me. My work schedule is going to start picking up next week, but I'll let you know.

So did you sell Spidertrax and buy different wheel spacers? I'm confused with the pics I saw.

Sarah found a winery up the road from us. I'm sure Amy and her could keep themselves busy.

Both axles i bought had wheel spacers installed. The front had 1.25" spidertrax and the rear had 2" spacers. I sold the spidertrax to a buddy of mine locally and have the 2" spacers for sale now. No spacers for me...

On a seperate note. I got the tie rod flip kit from the BM co-op. but i'm not sure ill be able to run it with the wheels i have. there isnt much room between the knuckle and the rim now. moving the TRE up will only make it closer. so i'm not sure ill be able to use it.

edit, tie rod flip will work with my wheels. see thread

What backspacing do your rims have? I just read in the TR Flip thread that 4.25" works for people.

I got clarification in this thread that my 15x8 wheels with 4" of BS will work with this flip insert.

Today I got the master overhaul kit for the front gears but not the gears themselves. Hopefully they will arrive shortly.

Got the rest of the control arm mounts cut off the rear and started cleaning up the rest of it with the wire wheel. Gotta get a new wheel tomorrow and try to finish cleaning it up.

Took the knuckles over to a club members garage and fixed the divots in the knuckles from the brake pads digging into the knuckle. Welded the divot and ground it flat again.

Used the sand blaster cabinet to clean the knuckles and 1310 yoke.
