I think 3"/31's (or 32's and Bushwackers in my case) is about perfect for a DD.. no need to regear, no need for a slip yoke eliminator, cv driveshaft etc., and no need for adj. trackbar (atleast for me)
I'd get the RC Series II 3" kit w/ full spring packs, thats what I have, and they have you use your stock shackle, so later on you can pick up http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_shackles.html and some coil spacers or new coils and go bigger pretty easily.

The RC 3" full spring kit was what I'm looking at and probably what I am going to get.

Better look into some dark window tint, mounting those amps on top like that just screams break my windows and steal me!!
Oh and about the lift kit, that’s the same first kit I got and now I don’t have any of it on my jeep, I know it looks nice to just get a "kit" but really it has crappy shocks, crappy fixed lower control arms, and sway bar drop brackets, and those just suck. I would recommend researching and building your lift, especially if you can find quality used components.

Yeah I'm really wanting some darker window tint and a security alarm. I want to go all the way to legal limit which is 50% front 35% in the back here in Virginia. But until I get my license it sits behind my dads business surrounded my barbed wire fences so I'm safe for now
And thanks for your opinions on the lift, I'm always on the lookout for saving money, and if I can get quality parts for cheap I'll take them!

your lucky you live down south you can get your windows as dark as you want I'd rather have it darker than 50%/35% but I don't want to have to deal with pulling it off if I get in trouble with police.
And I like you jeep by the way, you have pretty much exactly what I want to do with mine...tinted windows, black rims, tinted taillights, and a lift. Only suggestion I have is to paint your moldings. I painted mine the first week I bought my XJ, it was very quick and easy. $10 for a few cans of bumper coater and some tape and I got them looking really nice.

My latest small addition was LEDs to my gauge cluster. I didn't get to take any pictures of the gauges with the LEDs because my camera doesn't show the red light very well, which I guess is because my camera can't pick up the LED wavelength or something, but I'm not really sure. But anyway, for anyone with an XJ that wants to know how I did it, all you have to do is order 5 #74 LED bulbs in any color that you want, take the gauge cluster out, and put the LEDs in the place of the old lights. I got my bulbs from http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...%2F74-xHP.html . I know that that is the size bulb you need for a 99 XJ, and I would assume its the same for an 00-01 as well, but I'm not sure so check before you buy your bulbs. I got mine in red but you can get them in other colors there if you want a different color.
These are the only pictures I got from the install

Old lights on the left (blue is because of the filter type thing on them, dunno why that was there), holders in the middle, LEDs on the right.

The 5 brown caps are what you have to twist out to get to the lights, then just pull the old lights out and replace them with a LED, and then put the cap and light back in

thank you! and as for keeping up the good work, I got the door speakers hooked up just now. I kept on putting them off because of the heat and i've been kinda busy but the heat finally let off today so I finished them up. Everything fits fine and looks stock, but it definitely sounds a lot better even on my crappy headunit that I'm using while I wait for my headunit to be repaired.

So while I'm saving money for future upgrades and things, I did a cheap little upgrade. I spray painted my speaker grills from the stock white color to charcoal grey. I used like a 1/4 can of dark grey bumper coater that I had sitting around so it was pretty much free. The speaker grills now match perfectly with my interior and contrast with the headliner and I think they look great! I like them, but tell me what you think!

Mine is stock, but not all xjs came with them. For 98-01 you could get the xj with two speakers, 4 speakers non infinity, or the 4 speaker infinity package. Both four speaker packages came stock with the soundbar built into the headliner. The 97 and older sounbar just goes on top of the headliner and would be much easier to add than the 97+ sound bar. If i were you I would just take one from a 97 or older and it will fit right in and you shouldn't have to do any real modifying. You can probably find one at your junkyard and it will be much cheaper than getting one custom made.
