I know what you mean. I have some rust issues in my frame and rocker panels.

No updates right now...jeep mods on "pause" momentarily.

...a potential job 2500ish miles away came up. I have to see if I'm doing that, then will figure out what on the list is getting done first. Moving will eat up some of the mod money.

It's a new experience for me. Haha, I guess I'll see how this plays out

That being said, jeep mods are on hold, at least for a week or so. Then I will re-assess the order.

In that pic, you can see how my rear axle is slightly towards the rear of the wheel well; why my diff hits the gts & why I hope the adjustable lowers will bring it in enough

No major updates. My buddy did buy me a no-drill header for my bday last week, so I can run my bikini again.

"Jeep beach list" is still on pause. All the jeep money went towards a new suit & a plane ticket for a (or some) job interview(s).

Okay...I'm back home now.

Not much to report on my jeep, but I dealt with some vacuum leaks & exhaust leaks on my dad's XJ, and I replaced the exhaust manifold on his YJ.

Replacing the manifold took me around 7hrs & 45min, from start-running again....with a few interruptions. I started one night & resumed after breakfast the next morning. I just used the stopwatch on my phone.

...not the greatest pics, but you get the idea.

Now, back on topic:
I have had a slight vacuum leak since just before heading out of town. It only did it a few times; I could hear a high pitched whine/squeal again today. I took a look & one iac bolt was loose.

The iac bolts are little torx bolts iirc & mine are Phillips head & the screw didn't turn that easily, but I did get it tightened, so hopefully that was the leak.

...but I may pick up another iac-tbody bracket. I would not be at all surprised if the shop that put the engine in, cross threaded the bolts & just threw some bigger screws in it.

If I hear any more whistle/whine/squeal...I'll probably go pull an intake manifold from the jy.

The last time I was there, there was one already pulled that I almost grabbed, but didn't....so hopefully I could find one already pulled & not have to spend a couple hrs pulling one. I may go up & check if they have any pulled & just pick one up for convenience & less down time when doing my exhaust manifold.

Oh & for anyone actually reading this far...I did get a job offer, but I didn't take it (for multiple reasons)

Went to the jy today & pulled an intake manifold.

Pics later...but my logic is when I have everything apart, it'd be less down time if the intake is already cleaned & ready to go.

...or I'll just stick with my current intake manifold if there aren't any cracks & sell the extra, or (more likely) send it to my dad to use on his yj.

Either way, it was cheap enough that I'm glad I went & got one....& now by the time I go to do my exhaust manifold, I'll have a bit of practice pulling them
