Okay...I'm back home now.
Not much to report on my jeep, but I dealt with some vacuum leaks & exhaust leaks on my dad's XJ, and I replaced the exhaust manifold on his YJ.
Replacing the manifold took me around 7hrs & 45min, from start-running again....with a few interruptions. I started one night & resumed after breakfast the next morning. I just used the stopwatch on my phone.
...not the greatest pics, but you get the idea.
Now, back on topic:
I have had a slight vacuum leak since just before heading out of town. It only did it a few times; I could hear a high pitched whine/squeal again today. I took a look & one iac bolt was loose.
The iac bolts are little torx bolts iirc & mine are Phillips head & the screw didn't turn that easily, but I did get it tightened, so hopefully that was the leak.
...but I may pick up another iac-tbody bracket. I would not be at all surprised if the shop that put the engine in, cross threaded the bolts & just threw some bigger screws in it.
If I hear any more whistle/whine/squeal...I'll probably go pull an intake manifold from the jy.
The last time I was there, there was one already pulled that I almost grabbed, but didn't....so hopefully I could find one already pulled & not have to spend a couple hrs pulling one. I may go up & check if they have any pulled & just pick one up for convenience & less down time when doing my exhaust manifold.
Oh & for anyone actually reading this far...I did get a job offer, but I didn't take it (for multiple reasons)
