Dude you should totatlly paint that cage red or black, pref black. Whats up with your front fenders, coverage laws or something?
I always liked a silver cage so that's why I went that way. My Jeep is a daily driver and I put allot of miles on in one year. These fenders offer great coverage especially in the winter salt and slop. Those with tube fenders that drive in the winter will know what I mean. They also have a stock type appearance to an untrained officer. I don't plan on going any bigger with my tires because of it being a daily driver. They have plenty of clearance even at full stuff.
Hey Mud Machine,
I love the look of you LJ...it's what makes me wanna 1/2 top mine.
I like the idea of a half top on my LJ but I want to seal off the bed area. Could you give some specs on the tonneau cover. Like is it sealed at the bulk head?
Is it a custom cover?
If not who's the manufacturer?
The tube clamps are they off the shelf or custom?
Thanks in advance
The tonneau is a standard Bestop LJ cover that I had a local shop trim to fit tight to the top. Then I had them sew a strip of Velcro across the front edge. I installed a bow that runs across the front of the bed that Velcro’s to the front of the tonneau. There is a small gap that does allow a little (very little) water in but it drains right out as the front of the bed has drain holes. I made the rear tubes so they go through the tonneau in the stock location allowing the tonneau to fit tightly around them. It is not sealed to the point of being completely water proof but very little water gets in even at the car wash.
The tube clamps are off the shelf but I had a really hard time locating someone that actually stocked them.
