The grill guard wasn't big enough so i made a spacer, not perfect but it will do.
Toobs bent up
Grill guard set in place
Thats all i got done tonight hopefully tomorrow i can get the other side to look like this.
And for the side panels i think im going to bolt them, Just for easy access to taking the fenders on and off.
Looks good man I'm especially diggin' that red track bar haha
The way you did the fenders is similar to how I'm planning to do mine, are you going to cut the hood more? It looks like you may have cut it and bent it some?
I didnt have time to paint it, so i just left it
Yes definitely on the hood. It was just trying to get idea what it looked like and wanted to set the hood down to put it in the garage. Still have to order poly hood pins. And the back side of the fenders by the tube, im not sure if i want to cut that part of the hood and run a tube there too. Or just leave it be and run the tube where the factory fender ran under the hood. Ill probably just leave it be, i like how it looks.
At some point, but ive got some other things higher on the list, like flat skid, rockers, corner armor. Just bought these tires and I said that if I bought another set, it's going to be 37. Unless I find a deal on some used ones.
I seem to get mixed reviews, about them. I'm not totally convinced yet either. It's funny tho driving around town and every one is just staring at your vehicle lol.
Updates?! I hope you have finished those fenders by now, unless you are like me
I have to say, I really like your design so far. Yours flows much smoother then other attempts I've seen, hope to see some updates soon!
And I understand what you mean by people looking at you funny.. I've been doing some body work on the rear corners in preparation of installing my Rokmen corner armor and have been driving around like this...
I must be like you then lol, no they are not finished. I bought paint, primer, and have all the sheet metal cut. I really need to get this project done and button up a couple more things. June 7-10 I'm leaving for iron range in Gilbert, Minnesota so that should e a good time wheeling.
What has been holding up the jeep? I bought a new project
And here is the long waited update. Fenders are finished!!!!!On the 7th i went up to Gilbert, Minnesota to Iron Range OHV. Its a great park i plan on going back and recommend it to any one. It was about a 9 hour drive for me i rode up in a buddys trailer
Blew a bead on the first trail first day and about the first couple minutes, i was running about 11-12 lbs. So i reseated it and ran up to 16lbs on all 4 and didnt have a problem the rest of the weekend. Dented and put a hole in the oil pan, front diff cover took some major hits, rear corner took a nice one too, the rear cross member is bent up like a frowny face, and my pretty rims are not so pretty anymore. All in all it was the time of my life
Next on the to do list.
Cage (powder coat it hot pink? opinions? every one does green)
tube rear cross member and maybe prep for a fuel cell.
Well the jeep won't start now. Tried a new starter, still didn't work. Switched some relays around and got it to turn over. So I took the starter out and got my core back. Still won't start but if I cross the connections with a screw driver I can. So looks like I'll be checking fuses tomorrow.
I guess it's a good thing you bought that tow rig before you snapped both upper CAs looks like it's time to take that next step under the jeep and upgrade your suspension components
Side note: I can't wait for the Cliffs to freeze over so I can head out there and play in the snow and ice... the only 3 months out of the year for "dry" trail conditions while the ground is frozen. The other 9 months are nothing but mud, slop, and carnage.
