Goodbye Yj hello Tj
Well after owning my Yj for 2 1/2 years i was getting tired of it and wanted something newer. Heres my yj
It was a pretty intense build, frame off resto kinda.
link to build VV
So i started my search for a tj. What i wanted 2000+, 5 speed, 4.0L, and dana 44. I wasnt really looking for a builder or a fixer upper. But Thursday i found a 04 Wrangler Columbia Edition that needed some work because it was wrecked. Then I saw that it had a clean title so i jumped on it for a decent price. But heres the catch its 11 hours away, so road trip this Friday to go trailer it back:cheers2:
Specs 2004 Jeep Wrangler Columbia Edition
d35 and d30
It needs a clutch, frame straightened, windshield, and tires

And yes you can call me crazy for buying a jeep 11 hours and about 600 miles away but it should be fun and im looking forward to seeing what this wrangler can do.
Plans: Something i can daily drive and drive to the badlands or other wheeling spots that are a long haul.
maybe bb or old man emu
31 ats of some sort (suggestions are welcome)
try to find a d44
Other than that i really dont know what else, only time will tell.
Yj is sold so now I can concentrate on upgrading and fixing the tj. I'm leaving this Friday to. Go pick it up
Good luck with the new vehicle...look forward to some photos.
Good luck. Drive safe!
Woke up bright and early to get it off the trailer and the tow rig wouldnt start (lost its fuel prime for some reason sitting on a hill, but pumped her up and started right up)
Seats that are included with the Columbia Edition package
Last pictures of the 2 jeeps of when i own them, but im sure i can get pictures with the kid that owns it now.
Passenger side frame rail is pushed back, up, and towards the driverside. The passenger side fender is twisted up a little but i think im just going to leave it for now.
Interior piece that is painted silver for the Columbia package.
Me and my first darkside picture
The plan for now i just want get it on the road and try and get it paid off before i start modding, but i doubt that will happen.
d44 rear with traklock and 373s, needs to be retubed with bigger side walls, some type of alloy shafts.
lp d30 just 373s with some good u joints and trail spares
30-31s mt or at havent really decided
2 bds or 2 1/2 old man emu
short shifter of some sort, depending if i can pick up a stock one cheap. I think mine might be bent.
motor mount lift
And all of this is really up to the pocket book.
i have the 373 front and rear already purchased and the dana 44 with track lock.
My goal to have it on the road is mid march but its up in the air depending on how busy shops are.
Good looking TJ man, I like the interior! Good luck with the project! Score on the '04...no OPDA problems to worry about
I started doing some research and found that, thanks for the info. So far i really love the tj, but its so small compared to my yj it feels like im getting into a car lol
Jeep is back home and the frame is straight.
Bought a clutch.
Bought some 2 inch spacers
And I really want to buy some 33x10.50 km2s but I'll have to price them
So today I put the jeep up on jack stands to start taking the transmission out. Hopefully by Sunday I will be driving it around!
Well long story short my dad and i busted our ***** to get this thing driving today. Got the transmission pulled, flywheel resurfaced. When we looked at the clutch it was fine a little wear but the throwout bearing was toast nothing left. So we just put the new one in. We also put the pilot bearing in backwards, hopefully it last. If not it will just be another weekend project. Got it all back together again and it was going sooth untill it would not take coolant anymore. Still had about 3 quarts left to go in it. Needless to say i just left it run and it started smoking, didnt really think anything of it until i pull it into the garage.
By now it was smoking a little more and looked at the temperature gauge 270+ :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall I about **** my self. I turned it off quick. Popped the hood cracked the radiator cap. Wheeeeeewwwww, steam every where. Quickly filled up a 2 car garage and couldnt see anything so here i am at 8 o clock pushing it out of the garage. So i let it cool down and did some other things, later on it took all the coolant. I just hope tomorrows a little less hectic.
But it does moving under its own power i just need to put the fender back on and misc things.
oh and i think my neighbors love me working out side till 9:40
I really like those seats. Nice jeep
Well been awhile since i updated. Ive just been driving it. I put wheel bearings on the front axle and both u joints. Also a new radiator and thermostat
I put 2 inch spacers in the front which basically just leveled it out, so i was kinda mad about that.
But good news in i bought some rubicon rocker gaurds for $40 and hopefully getting some rubi rims and tires
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww sheeeeeet. Nate came to the darkside. :highfive:
Looks good man.
