Golden Goat (GoldenSahara00 TJ Build)

I figure I might as well post the build up here as well and get a little more active on this board.

Currently 33s, 3", 4.10s locked d30, lsd 8.8, small rear stretch, custom x member and tummy tuck, some armor and other fancy stuff I fabbed up. Nothing too special.

The next step is about to happen, then she will see DD duty and trail duty for several years before I go the rest of the way with tons and get a new DD.

Anyways, changes:

Going to 35" MTR/Ks
Hp30, trussed, C gusset, new gears, blah blah blah
Ultimate 88 kit
PSC Aluminum Defender XC (flare)
Hiline the rear fender flares as needed
Eventually get around to a small front stretch, new coils (a little lower), 11-12" travel shocks, modify shock locations front and rear, front antirock, all that jazz. Pretty standard stuff. Would like to reduce the BL to about .5" but thats not top priority, but on the list. Will add steering, cage, syth winch cable, rokmen tailgate/flush lights.

Get it done, and wheel it as much as I can.

Waiting on the rest of my order to fill until most of my parts ship, got a few to order, tires to order, axle to finish pulling, and then lots of work to do.

My build thread for the 8.8 and tuck are on Pirate and Wrangler Forum. If you have any specific questions about that stuff you can also ask.

Top is my driveway, Next is Yellow Jacket at rausch creek, next is pizza rock at RC, last pic is at Rock Run in Patton, pennsylvania (central pa). I have the gears, install, fenders, yada yada all ordered just waiting... Wish it had come already, it's been 16 days. Waiting on the defenders and artec d30 truss I guess. Otherwise I would be at it already. I have the cash saved up for pretty much everything minus the suspension so It's just a matter of how long it takes to get it done. I would love to have it done by our annual rausch creek trip Aug 1-3 but, at this rate that is not gona happen at all. I will probably end up finishing things up late this fall, realistically. As far as the other "wish list" stuff, I will just get it as money comes available in the following months. Should have it all done for next summer. I will likely do the suspension and stretch etc in the spring or next summer once I get everything on and do some runs to decide just how low I want to go. I have toyed with stock height (relocated spring perches to allow for a longer spring) but think I would like around 2" of spring height over stock plus the body lift should be a practical stance. The rear sits a little high right now because of the 8.8 tube diameter, and the springs seem to be stiff. That is something else I will be addressing with lighter rate springs. I am thinking OME light duty front and rear for coils if I don't redo my coil mounts and only do the shocks.

I enjoy the pics of your rig and almost went with PBRs. I will be going with them when I go to tons in the future. The price difference and the fact I do have to DD a bit swayed me to the MTRs.

I got a delivery today. I also emailed 4wd about my crap not being here. I got a great deal on these tires and really suggest going with DTD. I got 5 of the more expensive 35" (MTR) for less than/close what I paid for 4 33" Duratracs 2-3 years ago.

Whats up man. Right now is the time to buy, I got a heck of a deal. I can either tell you how to get them for the same price or you can buy mine for +10% and I'll order another set

I don't want to give away all my secrets so PM me here or on fb. Goodyear should be paying me a commission because I sold them several sets of tires after today.

Tomorrow I'm off work and have no other plans other than in the evening (gym time, for anyone who is into powerlifting/strongman). Have a few parts related calls to make and all that. Might do some work on the engine skid I have been building if I get motivated tomorrow. Got a little warpage because of a sub-par table setup so I might redo a little section. Then I have to finish 1 bracket and weld it plus the lca bracket I made up, back it with the angle I got this weekend then paint it. Here is a sneak peak for those who don't follow the build anywhere else. It's integrated to work with my custom tummy tuck/skid and have no bolts or anything to hang up on/bang up. mounts onto studs on the belly skid. Had all the materials left over from other projects so it's been free minus my time.

Got a refund today for some $ on the tires because the price was lower the day they actually shipped them to me. DTD has been one of the best companies I have dealt with, up there with Rokmen and MC.

Got a reply from 4wd today, defenders came in monday and artec shipped the stuff on the 30th to their ohio warehouse, then it will all ship to me. so I am hoping for sometime next week.

going to pick up the hp30, stealing one from a friend which he wasn't been using. Start a little tear down and what not. Never got around to work on the skid yesterday, it was crazy hot yesterday and we made up a new license plate bracket for our trailer.

I ordered my hood pins last night, those should be here in a few days. Amazon Prime rocks.

3/16 and will have some 1/4 angle bracing on the back. The front brackets will attach at the drivers motor mount and passenger LCA frame bracket. It's kind of on the back burner for a few days til I decide to finish it. Started tearing down the hp30 today. Just got the cover off and drained and the shafts pulled. Gota mark and drop the carrier and remove the rest of the sway bar bolts the guy must have cut off. Then sand blast/wire wheel it and get some primer on it over the next few days. I'll probably finish the engine skid at that point while waiting for other parts to come in.

Happy Independence day guys. Got the carrier out and castle nuts off the ball joints. My impact isn't up to the job of removing the pinion nut so gota work on that and get the ball joints out. Gona blast the axle over the next few days and get some primer on it. hopefully all my parts get here soon.
