Flo, A TJ Build.

I thought it was about time get a build thread started now that I am putting some money in to the Jeep. Partially to document it for myself, but mostly to get a wide range of input on the upgrades I choose to invest my money in.

I bought my Jeep without research and without really knowing what I was getting into. I wanted something to wheel and DD. I found it pretty cheap but it had a list of issues that were fairly easily sorted out. It had a 2 inch body lift at the time, and i was told it used to have 6" additional suspension lift and 35s! Thats 8" of lift and 35s! On a 4 cylinder, with stock gears! Not to mention the D35...

For the first 4 years or so all I did was removed the body lift, threw on a used budget boost and bought a set of cheap mud terrains, then wheeled the piss out of it. It did just fine as I went through my mud phase, and as I finally realized the negative effects of mud I started my transition to rocks and trail riding.

The name Flo comes from a friend who was reffering to the way it "flows" through obsticles on the trail. I thought it was kind of funny. He also suggested the Freak but thats been taken by a much more deserving Jeep.

I have got alot of help here on the forums, and alot of ideas too. Every mod on my Jeep to date has been researched here.

Right now Im just getting a base for my build thread and pictures, including a few from the very begining will come soon.

First wheeling trip.

Nice picture of the Junked out Mastercraft seats. This is about how it was for a couple years. I bought some junkyard seats in good shape somewhere along the way.

After some free fog lights and a new top...

Fast forward a while to early 2010, another new top, soft 8s and 32" goodyears.

Added windshield mounted lights and a new steering stabilizer.

Lost the tiny spare, added ufc Ultra high clearance skid, Currie SYE, Currie drive shaft and a novak transfer case shift linkage.

After springing a leak in the fuel tank I decided it was time to lose the rear bumper and low hanging hitch. And the gas tank all together.

More recent after the PSC rocker knockers and TnT customs rear bumper.

Also added a front Antirock

Right now I have Rock Krawler 4 link kit, TnT customs corners (bought from Redlyner on here), Currie bump stops front and rear, Led taillights, and a 8.8 Im gonna be building soon all sitting and waiting to be installed. Im sure I missed alot of stuff but thats the just of it....

Not as of now. It would be a fairly simple task but with the Tnt corners I won't be able to use the factory location anyway. I have thought about sinking it into the floor and running a filler, but honestly I dont mind unzipping the rear window to fill up.

Thanks, I am in the process of buying a house with a 2 car garage and just bought a welder so the plan is 8.8, 4 link, 35s, and around 5" of stretch early next year.

No, not really. Just been wheeling it and working on the house. Still collecting parts though. The progress should begin in the next couple months. I have decided on JK axles at this point, either 44/30 or 44/44.
