Negative arching... I'll probably be getting another set of springs and cutting these ones up to put a mil wrap on the new ones to make this not as bad...

My crazy brake lines work surprisingly well...

Driveshaft/exhaust/tractionbar/etc all good...

Unfortunately a truck was in the way of the RTI ramp's other side so I could only stuff it one way. I could go further back but I wasn't wanting to kill my leaves on the guy's ramp or pinch any brake lines or anything goofy. The rear needs bumpstopped a bit to keep the leaves from negative arching and crushing the rubber hoses as they go between the leaf and the frame.

If you read the bottom of his post you would see that he said the trucks were in the way of doing front flex......

Well... that could go two ways. One way is the way you guys are referring. The other way is there was only room on one side of the ramp, so he could only go left of the ramp (which is what it looks like in the pics).

I am yet to see someone flex the passenger side on an RTI ramp. Anyone care to provide an explanation? That may be why he didn't flip it around.

Still Tony, looking good. It also looks like you have maybe another 1" or two of clearance for that front tire.

:
i cant be sure but i would assume its because its easier for the driver to look out his window and make sure hes going up the ramp with his full tire on it rather then to hang out the passenger window and make sure all is good.. but hey im just assuming since ive never done it...

anyway happy posting buddy..

I didn't want to put the right front tire on it as I was having a hard enough time keeping my one rear tire on the ramp... you have to hit it at an angle as the axle articulates... the lower rear wheel wants to go straight, pulling the top wheel off as it goes up.

Also the front was clearly doing all the work so I didn't feel a need to check it on the front as well, at least not until I get a driveshaft built and bumpstops installed so everything stops where it should.

There is another inch or two of clerance for the tire... but the track bar was about 3/4" away from the frame

He's some kind of Scottish Terrier mix... my guess is wirehair dachshund or jack russel.

That makes much more sense. Time to get cracking on those bumpstops and DS.

Military wrapping them is a VERY good idea, but you still gotta remember. At full flex, or close to it, the leafs are still gonna bend and unless you bump stop the shiz out of them they will negative flex. Thats just the way leafs work.

Wrapping them with another spring will help tremendously with axle wrap, the bending of the springs and give you that piece of mind that they might not break......yet..

Looks good Tony!

Yeah, the traction bar should deal with all the wrap, I think long term I will be doing some custom springs from Alcan or National.

I made them with some parts from Advance and threaded rod.
