What are your plans for the evap. cannister and the gas tank?

Yeah I'm ready for it to roll out as well, lol.

Are you going to leave the fenders like that? If so, you may want to get some door edger (keeps it from dinging other vehicles) from a local auto zone or similar place. It would keep you from getting cut up on it if you rubbed against it. They make it in clear, black, chrome, and probably other colors too.
Yeah, I was planning on getting the door edger for all the fender edges. I'll be doing all those stupid little details when it's closer to done. I may need to cut more in the back I think.

Yeah, it was really cold that night. Virginia Beach area has some weird weather, it was like 40 degrees one day last week, and like 70 a couple days later.

The plan is to put the gas tank in the back seat area with some brackets that will bolt down where the rear seat brackets would go.

I got my tires today Unfortunately I've been feeling sick as hell this morning, stayed home and threw up a lot. Didn't get much of anything done, just picked up some EFI fuel hose, fuel hose safe hose-clamps, and some snazzy connectors that plug into the stock hard fuel lines on the frame to extend everything into the cab.

I'll get some pictures tomorrow at some point. I'll be picking up a semi-completed bumper from BESRK for my build. I was going to do it all myself, but the fact of the matter is that I have no means of cleanly/accurately cutting holes for a reciever hitch or d-ring tabs. I'm getting Eddie to cut holes and weld in the reciever hitch and d-ring tabs, I'll be doing the bumper mounts, the leaf-spring shackles, and capping it myself.

Tires:

Balancing patch on one of them:

Funny story about that, I thought it was an incomplete molding or something and ripped a small section off. Luckily I couldn't get much, I posted it on Pirate and found out quickly it's not to be removed. Take note of this if you ever plan on big big tires.

Brackets for the fuel tank in the back seat area:

Mounted and giant mess in the back:

I started it up with the exhaust cut off by the oilpan, sounded loud

Still have to hook up the emissions crap. I'm struggling with figuring out how to run the electrical connectors through the tub for the LDP or NVLD or whatever the hell it is back there.

Going to pick up a rear bumper from Eddie today, I'm having him just cut holes/weld in the reciever hitch and D-ring tabs as I have no way to make straight cuts through front and rear. I've got a bumper mounting kit from Rokmen that I'll be using and the shackle mounts for the leaf springs to weld on myself.

Yeah, I'd probably have the axles nearly mounted by now if I'd thought of doing that sooner.

Thanks again for spoiling me with your plasma cutter and 220v welder today Now I've gotta put those towards the top of my "Wish List" once I've got a house.

Think what you want, I'll take a decent plasma over a cut-off wheel any day now that I've used one.

Here's some pics of what went on today, painted everything for the tank mounting, figured out what to do for the emissions crap, and not pictured I started mocking up my rear bumper, didn't weld anything yet, I have just a little bit more 0.030 wire to burn off so I've been (attempting) teaching Shaynea how to weld with that last bit before I start using the 0.035 wire for the rest of the stuff.

If you are familiar with the evap system, you'll notice that I changed the order in which stuff goes. It's supposed to go to the charcoal canister > NVLD > filter breather. I changed it to NVLD > charcoal canister > filter breather. I've read about people removing the canister portion entirely and only keeping the NVLD without problems, I want to keep the charcoal canister to keep from smelling gas fumes constantly.

I just need to extend the wire harness to the NVLD.

More evap goodies:

If you look in the first 2 pics, I used one of the existing self-tapping screws that originally held the NVLD to it's bracket, to actually hold it to the mounting hole for the stock gas tank skid. I used some washers so it didn't pull through obviously but it is sturdy enough for what it is.

And the ever fabulous tie-down strap holding the charcoal canister down For the time being it works so I'll let it eat.

The rear bumper is welded up and about ready to bolt onto the frame after I clean the flux-core dingleberries off. Also mounted my first beadlock wheel/tire combo. That took about 1-1/2 hours I need to buy a torque wrench that doesn't weigh 5lbs

Unfortunately last night my daily driver/beater 240sx had a timing chain tensioner self-destruct and killed the timing gears/chain and I'm about 90% positive valves are bent. The car's a damn money pit so I'm trying to get rid of it and find something else cheap temporarily. Unfortunately this will divert my Jeep funds a bit

Got my bumper mounted and ready to mock up the spring shackle hangers:

Mounted and "balanced" my first beadlock wheel w/ the 40" LTB. They're 17" Allied Daytona Rock-a-Thon wheels.

Stuck 14oz of BBs in them. Got a $5 "diet scale" from Wally World to measure them out. Here are the other BBs ready to go in the other 3 tires:

Admired my Ballistic Fabrication joints for a bit The large 3" joint on right, their 2.63" joint on left. The large joints are being used for my single upper control arm for my front 3-link.

And also on Friday I stopped on my lunch break to get new face shields for my welding helmet. None were in stock so I left w/ a $220 Hobart helmet. This thing is awesome and I can see what I'm doing so much better now. Definitely worth the money.
