once again i'll let the pics do most of the talking, but:

i painted the inner fenders and inner grill to go with the blue once i paint it

finally took off that gay chrome grill to find some beautiful rust (luckily just surface rust) the chrome grill is going to be hung on the wall in my bedroom!

sanded the rust down to bare clean steel and primed it (primer not pictured)

took a step backwards as far as a well equipped off road rig goes by grinding off that huge angle iron winch bracket. (temporary until i buy a new winch idk when) this looks way better sans winch

grinding that angle iron off took 8 cut off wheels and the only sawzall blade i had at the end i just broke it off via hammer and pry bar. when i get another sawzall blade i'll trim the bumper.

AAAND we wired the dash for the cobra

and it looks like some of the pics got messed up from downsizing. oooops

finished my bumper just now, took forever for the paint and primer to dry in this humidity. I think its an improvement also, my LUK clutch kit came in today. $131 shipped from clutch city online. as long as the rest of my parts get here and my block is done when the shop says it will be i should have it running by Sunday night

Did you already get your flywheel re-surfaced or do you have an aftermarket on the way?

preparing myself to get flamed on.... LOL no i'm not getting it resurfaced.. i know i should however I've seen plenty of people just throw in the new clutch kit with zero problems. the flywheel was very closely inspected and cleaned. also the clutch felt 100% before

FINALLY got the block back! i love the look of freshly machined cylinders

i remember when my dad had the engine rebuilt in the jeep i have now, he sent the block out with the pistons/crank/rods and every thing stripped from it, he new the guy at the machine shop, he had the head and valves done, new cam and bearings all around, only had to replace 1 piston and hone out the cylinders, turned out great when it was all back together, purred like a kitten, when it was all done, havent had a problem with it since

i wouldnt worry about getting flammed on a 4 cyl rebuild, its worth it in the end, at least it was for us

she's alive!!! had to extend the cherry picker a bit to get it in haha

after getting a couple mixed up wires sorted out she fired right up

took it around the block and the coolant temp was rising close to the red...shut it off and checked it, out visually everything was fine. got down the street and it was getting hot again so i shut it back off. slowly took off the radiator cap and it was pretty dry so we walked back and filled it up with coolant. it took maybe about 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart? (my dad poured it while i was holding the hood so not totally sure...) got down the street and it was getting hot again but then suddenly dropped showing the thermostat opened... after that we just let it run for about 20 minutes and it held a steady temp just above 210. we'll look into it more tomorrow i'm too tired to think straight now lol

also got my lube for the good ole ax5!!!
