Finally.. my Jeeperman rear swingaway is installed :)

After a long, long wait... I finally received my Jeeperman swingaway today, and let me tell you that the wait was worth it. I'd wait a year for this thing ...the craftsmanship is top notch. It's just an unbelievable product and unbelievable excellent, top notch quality that I would recommend to anyone. I am very happy I chose the Jeeperman swingaway. I bought it through Jason at www.jeepinoutfitters.com and he had great communication and really cares about his customers. Obviously Eddie at Jeeperman ...nothing but positive compliments and great communication. Truly a great company who treats you like family. Now.. for the pics

Btw.. I added one more bumpstop on the tailgate after I took the pics for added stability. They do require trimming incase you're wondering.

Looks good Rocky. Mine is going to look very similar to that except on the bottom buper area im going to have a small round tube like my front bumper.

But my rockers and rear got delayed- all the steel they tried to sell us was rotted and crap, so were waitin on the next shipment! Glad you finally got yours though!

Nice looking rig.

Comparing that bumper to a less expensive LoD......what would be the major differences.

And why did you decide to go with the Jeeperman.

Thanks.

To be honest I never saw a LOD in real life, just pictures. I'm not sure what LOD has for options either, but I love how it has an integrated hitch receiver, D-ring mounts, CB antenna mount, hi-lift jack mount.. I'm sure I'm leaving out something. Not sure if other carriers have this feature, but when you open it to 90*, a pin stops it from going anymore. It fits up to a 33" tire the way it is... if you get a bigger tire you should buy the frame reinforcements, I think they are like $50 and can be added easily. The bumper is also boxed.. not sure about other companys.

I decided to go with Jeeperman because of their excellent quality and craftsmanship in their products. I have their rockers and front pre-runner guard which are both excellent products. Imo, the Jeeperman rear tire carrier is what every other tire carrier is compared to.

Looks nice

/rant on
But all the talk about "Things should be getting better soon" haven't help me yet. The 17th was week 11 and even if they shipped today (20th) it'll be over 12 weeks for something, when ordered, was 6 to 8 weeks. I was told "the first of the year" around Christmas which would have been 10 weeks... but I guess first of the year holds true right up to June 30th

Great Communication? Yeah, but is it honest?

Knowing what I know now I would have bought something else.

For now... Caveat extempore (and STILL WAITING)
/rant off

The more I here about the Jeeperman the more I think I am going to shell out the bucks for it over an LoD.

So after install, can you tell it is back there when driving.....compared to stock bumper?

Only when you look out the rear view mirror... a big tire is there

The latch is strong.. it's like a car door's latch. If you close it gently it doesn't catch and rattles just like a car door... slam it and it's tight as can be. Simple one finger release and you can let it swing open to your heart's content and the hold open pin will stop it from hitting the side of your Jeep/anything in the way of it's turning radius.

Rocky, a couple friends and I put mine on last night looks great but not to happy with mounting it to the subframe doesnt seem strong enough for me so I will be buying the frame kit, how about yours dont you think it would be wise to get the kit for the frame, those hummers are heavy! Also I was thinking of mounting on of the original bumpstops in the center for better support for the top of the swingaway. Oh buy the way got mine for 400 off a fellow jeeper thanx Tom!

I may get the frame tie ins, not sure yet.

I mounted 3 of me OEM bumpstops on the Jeep tailgate... althought the pic only shows 2.
