Finally My Inca Gold Rubi build-up
Bought my first TJ in 07 (98 sport) and have had 3 others since then, all stock with a few small things here and there. When I first saw the Inca Gold I knew one day I would buy one, well finally in early 2012 I was able to make that happen. I drove 9 hours each way to Virginia to pick it up and its been a blast for the last year stock. Now has come the time to dump some time and money into it. :highfive:

The Parts-
2003 Rubicon BONE stock 68k miles 5speed 4.0
Stock Rubi wheels
305-70r16 BFG KM2s
MBRP Stainless Exhaust
Currie/Savvy 3" JJ lift with aluminum arms ect ect
Currie Track Bar
JKS Disconnects

Other mods-
Leds inside the gauges and jeep
Locker defeat switch for use in 4 high
Kenwood Deck
Alpine V9 amp
Polk Speakers in dash and sound bar
10" Type R sub
Trailer hitch for my ski
Monstaline Entire Inside

Here she is last Feb the day I brought her home. Bone stock UNMOLESTED one owner never wheeled or anything. It had street tires and chrome on it lol. Since it came from the south there was no rust and I later discovered the whole Jeep had been undercoated professionally so everything was perfect. The price was more than right so I bought it, I was very close to financing a 2012 and then this popped up for sale.

The next day I broke it in a little not much wheeling here on LI but I found an ok spot to have some fun......

Soon after I got rid of the chrome

Then took a trip to Rausche Creek, I have a vid somewhere of me getting water in the motor because it came over my hood going through lake Christie. It powered through but man was it scary......

Summer came around and I needed to tow my GP1300r so I decided to put a hitch on the jeep along with a nice new soft top.

Doing work...:2thumbsup:

Had some more fun with it , no windshield.

Than onto the monstaliner, PITA prep but well worth the end result. I would recommend it to anyone who has the patience for it.

Also I added the deck and speakers at some point over the summer but no good pics of that yet. So now here we are at today some more goodies arrived on monday.........

And so begins the real fun, the lift, tires, and all the good things that make a jeep a jeep.:highfive: Wish me luck.....

I did the front today, I will finish the rear tomorrow and hopfully the JKS and the MBRP will get here so I can do those over the weekend. I only have one bad cell phone pic as my phone was dead so I got one from my friend, many more to come when I get back at it tomorrow.

Before the tear down last pic on stock susp.

Making Progress

One more thing I forgot to add, I traded a 5.3 LS I had for a Kenne Bell Setup for this jeep. Only issue is I need to figure out tuning (the computer I got with it does not work with my vin) so come spring when I have some extra cash I am going to find out what I need to make this kit work because who doesn't like boost.....

Well the lift is in, and it rides great. No pics yet as it is to dark but it looks good. Now I need to get tires and we will be on the way.........

Nice progress and very cool color  That supercharger setup will be sweet if you make it work, wish there were more options for the 2.5L

Well it is finally all done and together. Lift and tires are done with no Issues or vibes. Now I just need to do an alignment and we are all set......

The lift tires and all that cost me a little more than I had planned. The blower is going to have to wait until spring. Once that part is added I will be pretty happy with the overall jeep, but even as it sits I am in love.....:tea:

One of the nicer colors, looks nice so far!

Thanks guys, I am very happy with the overall result. Tomorrow I am going to add the sub and amp and hopefully do an alignment. Also I notice a slight vibe under full throttle from 20-25MPH so I am going to adjust my pinion angle slightly. The Savvy lift is top notch though and I would recommend it to anyone.

Vibe or shimmy in the steering wheel?

1998tjsport 12-19-2012 12:51 AM

No steering is dead on no vibes or shimmy at all ever, its a vib that resonates through the whole jeep, not like OMG its going to explode vib but its noticeable....
