DNFJ's TJ Build

So earlier this week I sold this:

'00 6.5" IRO lift on 35s

and bought this:

'00 w/ 160k TJ surface rust on the frame, a broken body mount, and rotted fenders for $4000

Ordered some flat steel tube flares for it, 33" grabbers, and a friend is giving me his old 2" budget boost. Long term plan for this one is 3.5" of lift, long arms with a rear stretch, and a D44 or Ford 8.8 on 35s with a tummy tuck. Stubby bumper for approach angles, etc.

I want to keep it low and centered with a good amount of articulation but also streetable for DD duties for now.

Will post some more updates tomorrow once the cutting gets started.

Grind that surface rust down and make it all cleaned up before you get to modifying it. I have intense ocd about rust and that's in the az desert! Looking forward to how it turns out

Already planning on it, it was obviously treated at some point, but I'm going to clean it up a bit more, use an air gun to blow out the inside, then coat it with Eastwood's internal frame spray

And here's how it sits after the first weekend. Still have the rear flares to do and finish up my led conversion for most of the bulbs, along with get 2.5" led turn signals to put in the front grille.

Rampage housings, smittybilt (ugh) front fenders which will serve as a platform to weld flares onto at a later point, along with a possible semi-exo cage at least for the front end, and 33" grabbers.
