when you shave an axle it basically means to cut out the portion that hangs low that you do not need. so if its originally a circle diff by shaving it it becomes a half circle (bit of an extreme example) but allows for better clearance. a 14 bolts diff is pretty damn big and will hang pretty low with 37" tires.

in a full float axle, the axle bearing is placed on the outside of the axle housing so that it places all the vehicle weight on the axle housing and none on the axle itself.

haha from a jeep to a cooper...what a contrast....id love to have one of those all souped up for a DD if i were you...preferably the hardtop clubman. looks awesome imho

Looking good man. I love the photos of it washed and nice an clean.... then the inteirier still has mud lol. I wish I could go doorless in december. It was -5 today up here.
