So is that mileage just what your getting ... (don't know how to say this) "out of the box", or have you tweaked with it ( sorry if that sounds stupid, ive never really talked to anyone who did a gas to diesel swap, so im not to knowledgeable on how you have to deal with the swap) What im trying to say is if you tweaked with it more could you get even better mileage along with HP and TQ?

still 20 City is better than the 10-12 I get average with the 4.0L on 35's

yes there is a lot of potential in this motor and it is "out of the box"
the smoke screw and star wheel have not been adjusted.
if I were to put an intercooler and bigger turbo, better ip pump..
better lift pump.....etc i could get a lot more power out of her.

just the intercooler would improve the MPG greatly...

Awesome build I'll be doing this swap when my I6 goes out. Who knows when that's going to happen but I will have a 4bt in my cj in the next couple of years. I love the cummins tag you put on it I never thought about that but I'll be stealing that idea from you. = D

Did you get the engine used or new?

I wish it was that simple for me. There's another thread for cj's in the cj forum. I don't believe my tranny is strong enough. There needs to be some firewall cutting and more lift to clear the oil pan from the axle.

How much did you get the truck for?
