The dark side

After stripping my jeep down to this a few months ago, I just picked up a new rig. I always said I wanted to go toyota, so that is what I picked up

Old rigs carcass:

new rig

Plans are:

switch out the spools for detroits
Swap out the 35s for some 37s
Roll Cage
Bob the bed
Front bumper w/ a mount for my winch off my old rig

Cool.. least you don't have to fool with the solid axle swap. What axle/springs in the front?

It has toyota rear springs up front

as for the axle it is a toyota axle out of an 84 pickup. 5.29 gears and 30 spline longfields

That is sweet, you are going to have too hook up with Dave and Javier from Javiers Autos/Gulf Coast Crawl Shop. Javier drives an FJ on 39.5's and Dave is building a Yota buggy on 39's.

And just to drop a shameless plug , here is what you will be leading me around at Trees in when the build is done in a month or two: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=550186

I am going to keep them for a little while, I have a few things that need to be done before swapping out the tires. I will post them up for sale on the board when I do decide to unload them

the beauty of toyotas as compared to jeeps, is that the axles can be built to handle alot of abuse. The only thing I am going to do to the axles is swap out the spools for detroits

Plus mogs would be way to heavy
