It's going to look slick when it's all painted up.

Thanks John! Welding it up is going to be tough. I switched to .030 wire & they look a lot better, but getting that sweeping motion around the tube is not coming to me yet. More practice!

Best looking winch guard I have seen. Tucked in nice. Great lines. Doesn't block the lights. Integrates the clevis mounts really well. Very impressed.

Got my seat mounting figured out & fab'd last night. Pretty simple. Just used some 2x rectangular tube & coped them over the cross bars. My seat bolts mount down, so I'll drill mounting holes in top of the U brackets to bolt the seats in. They'll be welded on both sides to the cross bars so should be plenty strong. All that's left is the harness bar & the X bracing, harness tabs & some grab handles & we should be ready to pull it for final welding.

Yea, it really needs a cleaning. My son even commented on it Saturday. I'll get her hosed out before the cage goes in for the final time.

Make sure you weld as much as you can with all corners bolted in tight before you pull it to finish getting the spots you can't reach, just to minimize distortion during welding. trust me, it will still require a little finesse to line it back up again once you drop it back in place.

Looking good

Looks like a good time to take the opportunity to line the inside of the Jeep!

Looking good Dan....hope to see you at the BLs soon. Heading out tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, the ground has frozen again so it's not so muddy....looking forward to it being hot and dusty out there again. This winter sucks!!!

I decided to lower my seats a little bit last night. Cut the tacks on the rear seat bar & lowered it about 1/2" & then lowered the front. A little more head room is nice. Seems really tight. Maybe because I never had bars over my head before.

With the seats lowered I was able to locate the harness bar. Located that in bendtech & the subsequent X bracing & cut & bent those pieces up. Going to print the cut templates today & notch & tack everything in tonight. If all goes as planned I should be able to final weld everything tomorrow.

I do need to remove my dash. I've found some write-ups online, but if anyone has any words of advice, things to look out for, or things to make it any easier I would greatly appreciate it. The dash is pretty much loose now, so really the only thing that needs to come off is the steering wheel/column.

My goal is to have it driveable by Sunday evening. Just in time for another big round of mother ****ing snow!

Would you make one for me. I'd like to tie it into my grill hoop to add some stiffness up front around the steering box and winch plate. If so, how much?
