I'm sure that rig will be fine. You can always take the bypasses on the harder stuff. MI is a cool place man.
If you guys can get my name on the list of 10, then I'll do everything I can to make. I don't want to be sitting around all week though, wondering if I'm going, and not be able to make other plans. Mecum is going on the same weekend and I usually go with my brothers.

I'm an IndyORV OG and my efforts to get you on the list were futile.....good luck with all of that. If you go up to Attica that day, I'll definitely wheel with you after MI.

Fenders aren't THAT BAD, but I see why you want a change. It's not perfect so it probably catches your eye every time you see the Jeep.

I would work with what you go

Yea they are James old fenders.

Got the new synthetic line & hawse fair lead on today. Had to cut the permanently fixed hook off so I could use my D ring.

Wobble woes: got the new joint halves installed in the melted side. Made one upper slightly longer to put them in a slight bind. Checked the joints in the track bar, they're fine. Holes seemed slightly oversized, but no signs of any movement at all. I torqued the track bar & lower arm bolts down with a 2' cheater bar, so everything is ridiculously tight. Checked ball joints & unit bearings. Ball joints seemed fine. Had a little play in the driver front unit bearing. Will order two new timkens & get them replaced.

End result: front end was much tighter. Mainly from the new joint halves & the binding, but the wobble is still present. Minor, but still noticeable. Replacement of the unit bearings & an alignment check are next.

I did the same thing on my synthetic line...I wonder why the hook is standard. Either way...synthetic line is awesome, solid purchase.

Yep, it's a smitty. Looked at the higher priced lines, but couldn't justify them in my mind. Like most things I buy, I got it on amazon. $200 for the line, $25 for the hawse fair lead & free two day shipping.

100' of 3/8"? Any worry about the winch plate rubbing the line as it exits the back fairlead during "in" pulling? Seems like that could be a sharp, square edge right there.

The hole in the winch plate is bigger than the hole in the fairlead, so there really isn't any interference. Only place I could see any is when the line is all the way to one side of the drum & that would be minimal with very little pressure.
