Had to replace my starter. it died while i was at work. after the core it was $133.99 from Bond Autoparts with only a 1 year warranty. the parts store was down the street. i would have rather of went to autozone for about the same price but with a lifetime warranty
lifetime warranty isnt always better. a lot of times its more cheaply made.
lets say 2 of the same thing, each made by different companies, both cost 150. one has a lifetime warrantee, the other doesnt. the one that offers the lifetime warrantee has to lower their manufacturing cost to be able to warrantee your product when it craps out 5 years down the line. the other on the other hand, can invest more into their product, possibly meaning a better product. this isnt always the case but does go for a lot of companies. such as autozone water pumps, ya they have lifetime warrantee, but people are replacing them every year. the only thing that can prove this would be reviews though
