I can understand trying to stay with the military look, just wondering why you went this direction.

It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand.

Sorry bro, I was talking about side windows. I forgot you have the soft doors though, so you probably don't need it.

"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.

I would trade a good looking steering wheel for airbags any day. Looks great!

Oh, you mean those side vents? Right now they are neatly tucked under the dash, pointing towards my feet. Someday I'll figure out where I want them.

The soft door windows are pretty good with standing up to the weather so far. If it's just rained they're fine, but if if it's icy outside, they have to be wiped down from the outside. An extra minute of my time, really, so no big deal.

Just found this thread. I think your Jeep would look sick with 33 X 10.5 inch tires. This is my 97 TJ with 33 x 10.5's on a 7" rim

My paint has some spots on the hood where the primer is starting to show through. Will be painting entire Jeep OD green this summer.

Great Job, you gave me some ideas

Your jeep looks good! Are you gonna use the same paint I did, or go for the real stuff?

Baja Bug update

Since this is MY thread, I'm gonna hijack it and show some updates from time to time of my other projects. So the bug is almost finished. Got to re-upholster the seats, and do a few things with the engine. Plus little things like side brush guards, repack the drive axle shafts, some simple wiring and decals. Heres some pics for those of you who like bugs as much as jeeps (like me)

I did the interior in one weekend, using lots of sandpaper, elbow grease, primer & paint. The floor is covered with Rhinoliner, rolled on using only a quart. floor mats will eventually go in as well. Some of the decals I'm still designing, so it'll be a few more weeks until I start adding them. I'm pretty excited about this project, because this is something I've wanted since I was a kid... A full sized Tamiya Sand Scorcher!

Recently pinstriped and added stainless moulding to her. Those BFG tires are 30x9.5x15 out back and 215x75rx15 in front.

The Jeep gets better and better every time I check in on this build. You have some great fabrication skills, and a real eye for detail. Looking great And that is a really cool looking BAJA Bug!!

Theres one on azbaja, and pretty much the same one on thesamba. just search for 64 sand scorcher.the build up pretty much starts with body work and paint. I bought the bug with most of the work already done. It was someone else's project that ran out of interest and money. I got lucky and snagged it before he posted it on craigslist.

Your Jeep is incredible! All the hard work really pays off! I didn't really read much of the 39 pages so forgive me when I ask because I'm sure it's been asked already but where did you get/what type of paint is that you used (the military olive color)?

It's a Krylon lusterless brand paint. You can get it at Napa auto parts.
