O I have a 2008 keep grand Cherokee larado, and I was wondering if their is any way that a cummins motor earthier 6.7 or 5.9 would fit safely in the motor bay of my jeep. If not I'm also considering on swapping out the v6 for a 6.1 srt8. Suggestions?!???
Can you and should you..... are two totally different questions. I personally don't think the JGC unibody is strong enough to hold up to the stress of a Cummins... There is a reason why the 5.9 was only put in 2500 or larger trucks.
Yeah it was just a thought I came up with the other night before I went to bed. So I figured I would ask some knowledgeable folks of the forums haha. It would be kind of bad *** in my eyes if it would work. They're ways to make the unibody stronger to with hold some stress. I just want it to be different, sometimes haul crap up north, and haul a ton of apples around the local farmers markets.
Like you, I have a love for the Cummins 5.9..... add a JGC and I'm in Heaven.... Unfortunately, it was never ment to be. If Jeep had offered a diesel in a JGC when I bought mine, I'd bought it.
