SYE done

broke the tap that was sent with the kit, didn't even make one full revolution

got my trans Xmember started...

all that needs to happen to it now is to have the holes drilled for the tranny mount and the tie-in brackets built.

231 Transfercase hith H&T sye in

Flat crossmember (it was notched in a couple more places for exhaust hangars and front driveshaft. then all the extra holes were welded closed and then it was painted.

mounted

19" of ground clearance. with 4" lift and 33"s still need to re-build the rear driveshaft and get some shims for the rear end. my pinion angle is about 6* low..

after that is skid plate time.
I think I am going to end up loosing about 1" of clearance because I want the skid to drop down and protect the bolts and whatnot.

Update:

pulled the transfercase again, was getting a nasty clicking from inside, rebuilt case, only to find out that both of the driveshafts CV's went out at the same time, so when I ran the case without the rear shaft in, it still made the noise, and because of how the fixed yokes are, the noise sounded like it was coming from inside the case.

both shafts are at a shop being rebuilt, pics when I get them back

as far as unecessarily disassembling the case: oh well, all I am out is a little bit of ATF and some time, and now I know I can re-build one properly.

suppose I should update this.

got the front end pretty well built.

Warn chromo inner/outers with Warn Lockouts

Vanco 16" brakes

ARB

custom inverted T hi-steer using 3/4" heims. will be swapping the pitman arm heim for a high angle TRE

OTA trackbar. using 7/8" hiems

still waiting on a set of raised sway bar mounts, then I will measure for limit straps.

after some dialing in, I am pretty happy with it. some people are not a fan of the inverted T system because of the inherent dead spot. I haven't found it to be much of a problem. although it is there. I would have rather gone with a full crossover setup, but I couldn't figure out a way of doing that without fabbing a new frame side TB bracket and some sort of double shear knuckle bracket.

the long run plan is to go with hydro assist, which will eliminate the dead spot and tie-rod roll. but first I need to deal with getting some armor on the jeep and then get the rear end dialed in.

the rear driveshaft will probably need to be shortened some, and a rear truss and raised shock mounts to go with shackle relocation brackets.

Here is what I came up with for mounting my ARB switches. I am also going to put this in my build thread for future reference..

I used an ARB flush mount bracket with the 90* tab cut off and a couple extra holes in it.

This sheetmetal panel is behind the dash panel, and here's the dash panel we notched as well.

The paint didn't quite come out how I wanted it to, but I ran into a time constraint so I will go back over it when I get a chance.

thanks! its a work in progress for sure.

in other news...

found out I will be waiting until at least the 24th to get my new shocks.... nobody at polyperformance thought it was wise to tell me that they had a 2-3 week build time, instead they told me they would ship out within the week.
