Thanks for the comments, the little (work horse) Mazda towed it fine, the trailer is braked also and is quite light, just leave big gaps between you and the next vehicle,

The specs on the project so far are

Merc Diesel (tank of a thing) - too be removed and a Rover/Buick V8 replacing - don't laugh or swear, I'm using this cause I don't have access to US Chev or Ford engines/gearboxes/parts, it is light, has good bhp and torque and the parts are readily available to me.

Dana 30 front
Dana 44 rear
Dana 20 TC

4" spring lift

33" tires

Things to modify:

Body lift ?
Rollcage
Winch
Lockers ?
Bumpers/wheel gaurds

I'm glad someone likes the light bar - not sure if it will stay on the final
model

Just the usual rust (not much) rewire, re engine, paint etc

Hope to have it going for summer

So the construction starts,

The fuel tank was knackered so I decided to make my own, first off I needed to bend up the tank so I built a sheet bender,

Then I fitted the tank and worked out the fuel inlet position, fuel vent and fuel outlet

Next i made the bracket to hold the tank in, someone had removed the original rear member so I made my own to replace

Now just waiting on the new sender unit and then I'll fix the final end in place.

So I didn't like the rear bumper that was on the jeep, it was messed about with, had a horrible low tow hitch and had no tire carrier, so I decided to make one myself, I looked at heaps of designs and then added to this, here's a few photos so far,

Have done quite a bit since my last post, here's a few pics,

Removed rust from rear tailgate

Filled in all the holes on the rear where over the years people had tried various lights etc

Then moved the fuel filler location to better suit my new tank and make accessibility easier,

I then removed the body off the chassis,

I then started to remove the underseal,

Then onto rust,

So I've now finished off both sides, made the front section too but will weld them on later as I need to repair some of the front panels, think it looks good to me,
