Chewy the 1996 XJ

I picked up a 1996 XJ Cherokee with 200k on it with a 4.0L i6 engine with a manny tranny. She had some really bad rust on the floor pans so this has begun my start to my XJ build thread.

Chewwy needs some help but I cant wait to see It done! I love XJ's Go anywere do any thing jeeps.

Haha, exactly my thoughts. I cant wait to see it done either. It's sitting in my driveway taunting me. I'm spending my entire weekend cutting out the floor pans and sanding off the surface metal. I plan on welding the new ones in, priming the entire interior, and then spraying bedliner down. XJ's are absolutely amazing, and around here me and my friends have our own little XJ gang. Luckily Chewy came with 30" Snow Tires and a Yakima snowboard rack, so my trips to the mountain this winter should be pretty painless haha

Havent updated the thread in a while, but so far I fully removed the passenger floor pan, re-painted the frame, broke the o2 sensor with an angle grinder, welded the Cat back together, welded the new floor pans in, patched the drivers side, replaced my coolant hoses and radiator cap, painted the axels, front bumper, trailer hitch, windshield wipers, replaced the o2 sensor. I still have to put in my new grille/front end, seam seal my floor, fabricate and weld in a new passenger seat crossmember using 2" box tubing, undercoat, and then bedline the interior, and then run this bad boy through inspection. It currently has a 2" suspension lift on 30"s. I want more travel, so im thinking 2 inch body lift and a 3" suspension lift on my 30"s? I'm not entire sure. Any suggestions? Im trying not to have to buy new wheels
