Changin up the HEAP.. a bit.. (2000 XJ)

Bought this 2000 XJ a little over a year ago.. story goes.. I had a 95 XJ and was shoppin for another one for a buddy.. well.. I came across this one on craigslist.. and the deal was so good.. perfect clean soccer mom wagon..
150k miles.. never wheeled and dirt cheap.. well my buddy (Mr. Picky) didnt like tan int.. So in a blink of an eye. i bought it.. and began to modify..

within 24 hours of bringin it home.. I torn into it..

well.. a day later.. she sat like this..

well.. after the test run.. I came back with 2 less fender trims. and a little tweakage.. so the air saw came out to play..

well.. fast foward about 12 months..
Gears, lockers, Cromo axles, Up graded to Adj. uppers/Lowers with JJ, 35" MTRs.. and tons of desert pinstripes.. you end up with this...

story.. to be continued.. lol

well.. as the story goes.. when one guy buys a jeep.. others are sure to follow.. so.. my best bud.. picked up a cherokee.. and.. he was in need of an suspension upgrade.. and.. I figures.. so did I.. so. i stripped mine down.. and traded him for a stack of cash.. well.. a small one... lol..

i went with a RC long arm kit..

rock sliders.. were next up.. so i removed all the stock rocker.. up to about 1/2 from the bottom of the door..
i removed the rest of the lip you see on the botton too.. but didnt take any pics.. it was dark by then

built the sliders from some 2x6 tubing..
supported them.. with a bunch of bracing.. taking in consideration of the future rollcage to be installed..

finished product

the next step.. in the rebuild/upgrade process.. was the bumpers..

i got a smokin deal on a XRC10 at the Pomona OFFROAD expo
started building some boxed bumper supports that also tie into support for the steering.. box..
the box mount was internally gusseted as well.. and capped with a steel plate to box it in..

i then dusted off the bender.. and started bendin some bar..

and.. the 95% finished product.. just have to bolt up the winch and lights.. and figure out the d-ring mounts.. and cut out the alum skid plate..

this week.. I have directed my attension to the rear quarter pannels..
i just did the infamous.. cut and fold..

before..

after..

and I started to bend up some bar.. for the rear..
gonna kinda copy the front design.. so they flow together.. but.. I am gonna do a fold tire carrior.. just to be a little different..

this is where its at right meow.. hopefully finish it up tommorrow..
Before.. I get another customer jeep here on monday..
