Yeah, I know what they go far. I have way to much **** as it is now, and I would rather help out a fellow Jeeper anyways.

Me and a buddy pulled out the driver side shaft last night and I couldn't tell if it was bent or I was just telling myself it was bent. Either way we got one shaft all set up and when it wouldn't fit in we realized that the driver side shaft is shorter than the passenger side shaft : So in the removal process we messed up the bearing on it (we also had the bearing on backwards) and finally got the correct shaft in and the Jeep driving again by 3am. I'm going to pick up another bearing from work and try the passenger side on Wednesday. The good news is I no longer have a wobbly wheel. When I took the old shaft out I was scared it could be a bent tube, Cuder and I are convinced this was pulled from a wrecked TJ.

It sounds like you just got in too much of a rush. How did the brake shoes look? Driving it with the bent shaft probably wore them a little uneven.

Well between School/Work/Internship I'm doing about 60hrs of "work" per week and it's been kind of stressful for me. When putting in that driver shaft I just slid a pipe over the shaft and smacked the bearing down, and didn't even think about using a hydralic press. I drove it to meet up with a guy just a couple miles from my place and noticed I've been leaking gear oil (I've been driving my girlfriend's truck for the last couple days and the Jeep has been sitting in the garage) when we looked at it the shaft had backed out and he wasn't even sure how I made it that far. So he trailered it to his shop and is getting me all fixed up. He said when he pulled the shaft all of the roller bearings fell out, he'll show me pics later. I should get it back tomorrow. I need to get my head on straight and am lucky my shaft didn't break/back out and cause a wreck.

I thought the shaft came with the bearing already pressed on it. I have never replaced a shaft. You couldn't see how far the bearing was pressed on the old shaft?

Shafts came without pressed bearings or studs in place. We had already damaged the old bearing before we noticed. Got it back today, all is well. Then I took it to the carwash and some of the spinners got tangled up on my 50" light bar and bogged down the system. It lifted my Jeep off of the ground, no pictures and no damages thankfully.

I'll see if I can get those pics of the bearings from him.

Haha it's for those that actually read and not just picture watch I'll go back and bold it for you.
The guy kept asking if I stepped on the brakes and I didn't have a clue what happened at first.

Haha, I am sorry...but I laughed pretty hard reading that.

Did it lift the jeep up by the bar? Apparently you mounted it well

Yea it wrapped around the bar and lifted straight up. PSC made strong mounts, and say what you want about Chinese light bars but I'll keep my Totron.

Haha, well glad nothing was damaged...probably don't go through those anymore.

I've considered the touchless ones...but have never gone though one (too scared to with a soft top)
