It's going. I'm waiting for parts to come in. Nothing terribly exciting has happened yet. I also made a separate thread in the technical section so I could get some more input when I start taking patterns. I didn't want to clutter the build thread with technical stuff, I know most people just like to look at pictures in these things.

I've now got all parts in. Ford Racing master install kit and Nitro 4.88 gears. New ring gear is installed, new bearings pressed on, and I've started by getting the pinion bearing preload set. Once that gets done I'll start setting the gears up.

New pinion vs old. New on is the smaller one.

Ring gear ground to clear the cross shaft

Pinion with shims and preload spacer ready to go in.

Any chance you're ditching those wheels?

Any updates? I almost became a Buff, but I ended up changing majors and decided not to go.

Plenty of updates, I'm just pretty terrible at keeping up with a build thread.

Axles have been fantastic for the last couple years. My other re gear thread has more info though.

- Metalcloak arms went in last summer along with their front track bar
- Rebuilt the transfer case and installed the JB SSSYE
- Rancho RS9000 shocks went in a couple months ago

Those are the big ones. Plans for the summer:

- Currie steering
- New steering box
- Carpet (and other interior amenities)
- Savvy GTS
- Savvy front bumper (maybe)
- New hood (maybe)
- Poison Spyder fenders (probably not)
