I never really liked JKs until I saw yours. Pretty sweet. The color is awesome, and it's great to have that characteristic because it stands out all the time.

Bearing and nurturing,
Creating but not owning,
Giving without demanding,
This is harmony.

Thanks spyder! I bet you can't WAIT to get yours! Wish I could start stockpiling the mods!

Went to Michaux State Forest with a friend in his '12 Cosmo Blue JK Rubi today to explore some of the trails. Definitely NOT anything worth even putting it in to 4wd, but beautiful scenery and even got to hike through a former Nazi/Japanese POW camp (WWII - Pine Grove Furnace POW/Internment Camp, AKA Camp Michaux or Camp S-51-PA). Pretty darn cool. Found a hill climb with some small rocks to test out the lockers and swaybar disconnect, though!

He did a really clean bumper chop: hacked off the end, welded a thin steel cap to the inner steel bumper support, hammered the new steel end cap to match the plastic, then sealed it. Looks great.

Jeep has really improved their interiors, very nice color too. I wouldn't change anything about it really, I think it looks great as is. Do you notice a big boost with the new motor for 2012?

The interior is fantastic. The all black shows the dust/dirt a little easier so you have to keep on top of it cleaning-wise, but it's not enough for me to not love it.

I never had a JK with the 3.8L, but I've driven a couple friends with the 3.8L, both two- and four-door, all manual transmissions with 4.10 and 3.73 gears, on stock and 35" tire: the 3.6L spanks them all. Anyone saying that they couldn't feel the difference between two similarly outfitted pre- and post-2012 JKs are out of their mind. It's quite apparent. It absolutely kills my 4.0L TJ above 1.5k rpm -- under that, and the TJ out torques the Pentastar. In the powerband (anything 1,500 rpm up to redline), and Pentastar outshines all previous Wrangler powerplants. It's not even arguable. For those arguing torque drawbacks, with the transfer case in 4L, just let the clutch out -- whether it's the Rubicon T-case or not -- and it just chugs along, no throttle necessary for rocks. If you need to climb with some wheelspin, you'll be above 1,500 rpm for that anyway: regardless, the power's there.

No worries: when I get it off the ground a little bit and armor up, it'll be gettin' rocked. I took it to a trail that could barely be considered "off-road" in the above pictures and already have scrap on the passenger-side frame rail and gas tank skid. It needs a 2.5" lift and 37's! Soon to come ...
