really not to much cash if you thinkabout it. He has as much in that jeep as alot of people have in thier TJ's on 33s. The difference is he did all of that himself and saved all of the labor fees alot of people pay and put it toward some 42s.

I have been thinking of putting those rails along the side of the tub like that ... but all my friends say "Why bother".

I have never had a solid answer other than "looks cool" What is the real reason for them? (and yes, I still think they look cool!)

I can see a few purposes of those bars. For one, it will help hold the driver in the seat. Those bars were welded high enough that it catches me right about belt level in case the seatbelt has too much slack in it. It could also prevent a boulder from coming in the door. But the main reason I put that bar there was incase of an end-over-end roll backwards. That bar should give the cage some lateral support and hopefully won't allow it push forward. In addition to that bar, the external bars covering the rear panels are also tied into the roll cage, and bars going through the firewall connecting a front hoop and the cage front hoop will be welded in. I'm concerned about rolling real hard if you can't tell!

By the way, nice pics Tim!

Jay
