Worked on outboarding the springs over the last two days. Have to go to work tomorrow, hopefully Fri I'll get everything welded up

YJ springs

Cut the rear hanger off

Removed front hanger and the rivet

Used some 1/4" plate that I had layin around to make the brackets

Making the front brackets

New 2.5" hangers

Going to add some gussets when they are welded up

Went ahead and drilled a 1/2" hole to eventually tie in the winch plate

Rear brackets

They will look like this when welded to the frame, but with one more gusset

Just read the whole thread, and had to crawl it. Reminds me a lot of my fathers old CJ built up, though yours has a lot more beef. Im in love with it. Keep up the good work I cannot wait to see it finished up

Yeah, Indiana is kind of like that, hard to avoid mud here. Not too many complaints with slime lol. Though we do have some pretty sticky mud:
Back when the Jeep was still stock, didn't stand a chance

Those are Super Swamper SSRs under there.

As much as I'd love to run a tire like a BFG Krawler, they really don't do very good in mud. I'm actually strongly considering TRXUS MTs for my next tire.

I was orginally wanting to run BFG Krawlers, but after some research I realized they would not be a good choice because of how they clog with mud. Lookin at 42" Iroks, SX 2s and Pitbull Rockers.

I've got a buddy who is running the new 35" Rocker radials, and another thats got 37" Rocker radials on order. I'm looking closely to see how they do, it might come down to the Rockers or TRXUS MTs.

Unbolted everything, triple checked some measurements, bolted everything back up and it magically ended up right. I guess something wasnt sittin right and it corrected itself. Just need to go back and change some bolts to the right size/grade and burn the brackets all the way in.

Please ignore my stick welding butchery

I'll volunteer to ride shotgun when you take it wheeling.

Over the mountains and through the woods, across the stream and up the slickrock, down the canyon and over the rocks to nobody's house I go.
