Brackets are 2 x 1/4 square tubing cut in half with a 1/2" grade 8 bolt

Just tacked on, need to burn all the brackets on.

i didnt see a thing wrong with those welds when were in a hurry we always seem to go a little faster to get the job done..it looks great.

im wondering about the 2 ft lenghts of landing mat im gonna cut you?
looks like the rockers are really long, you must be gonna piece it together and wanted 2 ft pieces so it will fit in your jeep

im going today to pick it up..hope we can both get some use from it lol..

Don't plan on running them full length. If I remember right they should end up about this long

jkl...is your rear bumper upper part 3/16ths thick?and the lower bumper part also?
im half done w/mine and man is it heavy...40 lbs for the upper and 4o lbs for the lower, but the lower is 1/4 inch since i couldnt find 3/16ths..
im thinking of getting it done and not useing it cause it seems like it will be a lot of weight on the rear..i removed the rear seat and my tools it would eqaul the weight of the bumper but the tools are more important lol..
im thinking i may remove the seat and make a angled bed mount and just take the tire out if i need the seat back in because of the weight..i figure when done it will be like 180 lbs with a 35?
i dont wanna flip it backwards lol..but i guess everyones bumper has gotta be close to this weight if they use 3/16ths thick material?
im at a hold for now..
HEY NOT TRYING TO HIGH JACKING YOUR QUESTION NOW POLECAT

if kevin dont wanna build you a bumper i may sell the one im makeing just like it in the future..just not sure what i wanna do yet

Sure. Don't know if you want to use your own materials, but I have enough to do one more bumper. We'll talk Sat.

I'm assuming your talking about the one on my LJ.

I used 1/8" except for the bottom piece on the tire carrier that is attached to the swing is 1/4". Saved weight and I believe it is strong enough. I would rather bend the bumper than bend the frame.

Bumper approx 21 lbs.
Carrier approx 30 lbs. + tire
plus the mounting brackets, latch and hinge

Weight differences

2" x 4" x 1/8" = 4.7 lbs per ft
2" x 4" x 3/16" = 6.86 lbs per ft

2" x 2" x 1/8" = 3.24 lbs per ft
2" x 2" x 3/16" = 4.31 lbs per ft
