bruno the boat sided cherokee tube buggy build

ok guys, i got this up on pirate but i wanted to bring it here, this is a true build thread and will start and i will bring you up to date along with what i need, what ive done and what will be happening.

ive been working on this since august when the unibody frame went to hell, i got flamed for not doing stiffeners untill they saw pics of my frame and floors so i went to 2x4x3/16 tubing for a tube frame and 2x6x1/4 tube as boat side rockers

this is the third build of the jeepand the only one i will take time to explain

drive train:
front d60
rear 14 bolt
-(as you will be able to tell, im cheap, not good for jeep building, but im going to lock the diffs by welding the spiders)
Chevy 350 built for low RPM power
doubled 203/205
-(just the 205 for now unles i get a deal on a doubler and 203)
muncie SM465
4 link rear-all ruff stuff heims on axle, bushed dom on frame coiledwith stock front xj coils
3 link front-same setup at rear and heeims on the panhard and f150 coils
rear mounted radiator
39.5 inch iroks not sure yet but the iroks have good reviews
exo cage
rear disc conversion
will post pics in a few

so, ive been doing some figuring, im going to be using a three link in the front and 4 link in the back, using coils ofcourse as coilovers are REALLY expensive, anyways, im going to use Ruffstuff heims as they are cheap and high quality, and so with all materials i figure a price of around 575 dollars, this will include:
4 sets off ruffstuff 1.25" heims
24' (a full stick) of 1.5 inch ID 2" OD tube (not going to use DOM, i will just sleeve the first 6 inches of each end) for he links and the trac bar
1/4 inch plate for coil buckets and i will use my old set of f-150 coils

the rear will use the exact same material, except i will use the trac bar as another link and double triangulate it to avoid using a rear panhard and cut down on rear bump steer as well

this means i will need about a 1200 dollar budget for the suspension

hey thanks mani know most of the stuff on this site is bolt on, which is alright but i also love seeing more ameture fabrication, which is like what im doing. just so ya know, im doing this with cheap tools as in a harbor freight welder, (which actually welds better than expected lol) and cheap hand tools, as well as fixable power tools i buy from garage sales...its not that i dont make enough money to buy a little better tools (even though it is a highschool student budget) its just the fact im cheap.
which is alright i guess lol...
as for the link suspension, im starting with the front and will begin buying parts as soon as i can, the rear will stay leaf sprung for the time beings

i will keep the 44 for a season though unless i find a really good deal on a 60 and a gear set
i will be weling the spider gears on it tonight as well as removing the brackets from it

alright guys,
got some more work done tonight, finished pullin the front axle apart and found out that 44s cant swim... if ya remember from my first thread here i got here stuck to the doors on the bald tires i way runnin, turnsout the seals let in mud and water, my shafts were starting to rust andthe ball joints were shot so i welded the spiders and while im waitin on a front 60, im gunna see how far a stock 44 will go

thats all for now more to come when i look through my phone more
