Sure thing! Unfortunatly I leave to for Las Cruces soon for school though, so purchasing will happen but no installs.

Thanks!

On my hunt for some slop and wobble in my steering I decided on a Durango Box.

Steering is 10x easier but the slop and wobble still exist. I have done the dry steering test to many times to count. No movement whatsoever in anything......

Alright well in preparation for school, I installed a Tuffy Hood lock, ADE security/Killswitch, and a DIY Trunk.

I did a Writeup on the trunk here. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/ho...trunk-1402774/

Then made myself, my father, and a few friends of ours to the beautiful Ouray, CO.

Also got some savvy arms and a 8274 winch!

Dunno how I missed your build thread. Subscribed. I look forward to your progress, you seem smarter than 95% of JF, so I have lofty expectations

Thanks man, the Silverton/Ouray/Telluride area is one of my favorite places to wheel.

Did some wheeling down here in Las Cruces, was a 10 hour day, got lost and stuck and lots broken, but fun day.

Ill start from the beginning.

Around 10 we left the meeting area and headed to the trailhead, which I have been before and had no issues. Met a guy from El Paso on the way with a sweet rubi on 37s.

So it is myself up front, my buddy in the Pathy behind, and the Rubi in the back. Somehow my GPS wasnt quite right, but I didnt worry about it, the trail is straightforward right??? Not so much....

First 2 hours went well, with one winching of myself (stupid line) and one of the pathy. Next we came up to the T that goes up to the "Extreme trail", which I am not sure of on the name. And drove up it a ways just to check it out, no worries it was cool and turned back.

Now we are heading southeast down the trail( which by this time I believe we are running the trail in reverse.) Mile or so down, the waterfalls and rocks are getting quite large, and we are using bypasses to get around them. Finally we get within a mile of our return road, which now we are no longer on Amatista Ledges trail, but something much more difficult, massive drop off, 15 or so feet. Let me remind you that I am on 35s, A pathy on 32s and a rubi on 37s.

It is about 5'oclock at this time.

Maps are consulted and we believe we missed the turn off about .75 miles back. So we turn around and now are moving up this technical trail. About 3 hours later, 10 winch recoveries, 1 punctured sidewall, 1 destroyed valve stem, 1 tire that fell of the hub, and multiple usings of the highlift, we are approximately .5 miles back, with a waterfall in view and a bypass going up the side of the mountain. Mind you it has been raining all day long and EVERYTHING is slick. Joe, the pathy driver, is quite discouraged at this point and desperate to get out.

Detour it is, but not what we were expecting. This detour pulled us off the trail and far south. This made most of us happy cause the trail was a killer on progress.

Finally we get out of the trail and end up at a dam of sorts, gated, and fenced in. Apparently somehow we had boxed ourselfs into a US Gov owned area, no idea how.... We drive south again along this fenced road till we find a unlocked gate and haul through some unknown land to a public road. Thank God.

Moral of the story; Make sure you know where the hell your going. Always.

Here are some pics,

For sure, was a great time and now looking back it wasn't bad, just a long wheeling day
