Question about your rear 4 link, any reason you didn't mount the lower axle side even with the tubes? From what I understand not only do you gain the clearance but also improves geometry a bit since you're effectively raising the uppers when you mount them on the truss. Great job it's inspired me to do mine next summer

good from far, far from good.

It has to do with how the rear axle ends up "pushing" the vehicle. The way MrBlaine explained it was that if from the side, you drew lines through your upper and lower links forward, they should intersect as close to the center of gravity as possible so that you don't squat when accelerating, or very little. The benefit of geometry outweighs a few inches of clearance right next to your tires.

The Second Amendment is in place in case they ignore the others.

So effectively you are setting your AS as close to 100% as possible (ie slightly higher than it would be if they were flush with tube)? I guess there is also some adjustability in the upper frame-side mount too which I thought was the best place do to that. Thanks for the info!

Take a look at impeds build. His mounts are flush with the tube if you're wanting to go that route.

I'm well aware of that which is why I was asking for the reasoning behind him mounting his lower. Obviously if its coming from Blaine there's some reason, time to start playing with the calc.

Imped went back and forth I believe with Blaine.

End result. Flush mount, and as far as I know it's probably one of the best TJ in terms of suspension geometry out there right now.

It also has to do with having enough seperation at the axle. Moving the lowers up means you have to move the uppers up and can limit uptravel due to your tub

I am pretty sure he doesn't drive it anymore. Maybe he sold it or it got stolen while he was in the mall...
