All around Craigslist win today! Picked up 4 American racing outlaw look alikes (15x10, 4" bacckspacing) for the 35x12.50x15"s I SHOULD be trading for. Got them for $80, Score! Supposed to be swapping my km2s for a "new"set of 35" Dunlop mud rovers Sunday the 23rd. I'm trying not to count my chickens but dammit I'm stoked!

So would you say with the soa and stock springs sits as high as your old 4 inch sua setup or did you gain lift? I am planning on a soa on my rig this coming spring and can't decide on what kind of springs to do it with, I am sitting on 3.5 springs and 1.25 and like my current height but wouldt mind gaining a inch or two seeing in how I am switching to 35's at the same time!

The Spring Under setup was originally 5" (1.5" shackles and 3.5" springs), and rough at best. The tub was cut to hell front and rear by the p.o. to "fit 35"s" but with that setup the cutting wasn't necessary. Once the Spring over was finished it was on the 3.5" springs and the stock boom shackles. The springs didn't settle and it was ridiculously tall which can be seen. I would honestly say spring over on the 3.5" springs it was probably 8" of lift total or so (I could have easily fit 37's 38's etc etc). I swapped my 3.5" springs for stock springs with a buddy of mine, and the lift height is probably 4". If anything it is maybe 1/2" higher than when it was spring under? The spring perches that were originally fabbed were a little tall, so to reduce the ridiculous height that the 3.5" springs gave me, the perches were redone which took about 1" out. The stock springs settled a lot better and are a lot softer than the 3.5" springs. I am about to switch back to 35"s and I don't think I am going to have any problem fitting them. When I get off work this afternoon I'll take some measurements for ya and post em up! I couldn't be happier with the spring over setup, hands down my favorite mod.

Spring Under with 1.5" shackles, 3.5" springs and 35x12.50 A/t's

Same Suspension set up on 33x10.50 KM2's

Spring Under 3.5" springs, stock boomerang shackles, 33"s

Spring Over on 3.5" springs and 33"s next to my cousin's 78 Bronco

And finally on stock springs, over axle, 33"s

Hope that helps for now!

Are you running a sway bar at all? If you not how does it handle on the stock springs? I have never had a chance to ride in a yj with stock springs before but I heard you can get lots of body roll......... I don't plan on running a sway bar and because of that I might end up with re soa 1.5 springs! I love to see your measurements on your jeep, buy the way I love your build so far!

Hey! I know that guy in the 2nd to last pic.

The combo of stock springs and soa works well on his rig. 1.5's would work good too. But the 3.5" springs SOA... waaaayyyy too much. I run a sway bar on mine... but I also have a full cage and armor... so my rig is a little top heavy. His jeep doesnt have all that weight swaying around up high.

At ZTE, I don't run a swaybar right now but I have one. I have run it until recently and it cut out a lot of the body roll, but its not a race car so i couldcare less for now. Lots of body roll but that comes with the territory. Thanks for checking out my build, it's good to hear someone's checking it out! @Travis, Nevermind read your post on hrjc. I'll have the black wheels off the YJ for sale soon enough too if you'd be interested. You're rig heavier than mine? Nooooooooooo that's not possible... Lol.

No more edits!

@zte87 Here are pictures and measurements for ya! For starters my KM2's measure out at 31.5" tall with the jeeps weight on them.
Here is from the concrete to the bottom of the tub, 26.5"

Concrete to the bottom of the frame, 22"

Concrete to the bottom of the skid, can't see the bottom of the tape measure, but it's right at 18"

Bottom of the tube bumper, 26"

Bottom of the shackle, 21"

Wheel well clearance, a lot, these measurements are ROUGH. Tire to plastic inner flare 7" or so depending on location, tire to tub, 10"

Hope that helps bud, thanks for reading!

No problem! Provided everything works out, I'll post pics with the 35"s when they're on.

35x12.50x15" Dunlop Mud Rovers. Score! Found a guy on Craigslist about 300 miles from me, met him half way today and swapped my 33's for his equally good 35's. they should be mounted and on tomorrow!

Thanks, I've gotta play around with the psi a little bit, and then my next goal is a locked front and 4.88's. Before all that though I'm going to have to address my transmission. I stopped by the shop Friday and talked to Bosco for a minute (drooled over his Camaro) but I didn't make it in, y'all may have been at lunch or I didn't knock loud enough haha.

We were there most of the day. Did have to run an errand to the brewery up the street... doing some fab work for them. But I will chat with you about the axle setup in the next day or two.
