Whats the thought on the advanced adapters vs novak cable shifter?
I'm not sure if you read the entire thread or not but what I currently have installed is the Advanced Adapters shifter bracket. On one of the last trips up to RC I had bent the linkage to the point where I was not able to shift out of 2wd. We dropped the skid and straightened it back out at home but I would like to replace it with a Novak cable shifter unit, because the bracket still hits the tub (even after clearancing the tub) and it would shift smoother and help relieve some of the drive train vibrations.

This was my first year going to the Cove (Icebreakers, Spring Fling, Fall Crawl) and I am sure I probably ran HRC at some point but since there is no "official" map I really don't know. I wish I could have made Main Jambo but my schedule did not work out. I will be taking leave for next years event. I run with Maryland Jeep Club or Valley4x4 so if you would like to join us give me a shout.

I would say i read 75% of your build. I did read where you bent the bracket, just missed that it was the AA one. the Novak is nice to have, it will basically work with any skid / crossmember / tub / T-case height. I actually have a buddy of mine who is trying to sell a Novak that he never installed, then he bought a rubicon so he cant use it. he is Lax22 on here. might see what he wants for it.

Funny that you didnt make Main Jambo because thats the only one I was able to make this year. I had a axle swap 3/4 link project going off and on for several months that kept me from going to the others.

atcually headed to RC next weekend for our clubs annual "turkey run". its our biggest event of the year and most people bring their wives/families. we stay at the comfort inn just down 81 and have 2-3 turkey fryers going, smoked turkey this year too. we also eat at the Red Lion one night, which if you have never been i would highly reccomend, talk about country cooking comfort food. its about 10-15 minutes from the hotel.

its also nice to see someone else take the time to post up videos of the trips.

I didn't bend the actual bracket, the bracket caused the shifter linkage to bend and then bind. Probably didn't help that it was rubbing against the tub. I really wish I would have attended Main Jambo because it looked like perfect wheeling weather and the mud pit / bonfire are always a good time. I have never been to Red Lion, I will have to make sure I stop by next time I am in the area. Gooseberry Farms was always highly recommended too. I enjoy making wheeling videos, I try and keep it simple with a good flow, subscribe to my channel I am trying to get popular.

If you wouldn't mind finding out what he would like for the cable shifter I would appreciate it.

No worries then! Icebreakers is 6 months away so I have plenty of time to get everything ordered.

Not really Jeep related, but I have been on CL the past few days looking at slide in campers. One of my goals for next season is to have a budget tow rig and trailer, because after almost 5 years of driving to and from the trails I don't want to risk breaking down any longer. I found an older model slide in that I really like so I may go and check it out this week. It appears to be in good condition however I will gut it and give it a more modern interior. It will be nice to have heat/ac and my own private bathroom at Gore and Rausch Creek.

Well the slide in camper did not work out, too much overhang so it prevents a car trailer to be hooked up. I guess I can use a tent for a while longer.

I did recieve my Mr. Blaine swaybar brackets in the mail from Holaday. Thanks again for the great deal.

I posted this information in the frame height thread but figured I would share. One of my complaints from this past wheeling season is that I did not have enough frame clearance, and was dragging the skids more than I should. I was away for about a week and took the measurements this morning.

18.5" Frame
17.5" Bellyup

Current condition of control arm mounts:

Front Left:

Rear Left:

Jeep has also been winterized:

Thank you for the suggestion. They have the shock towers for under $100.00and I already have the lower shock mounts, and can grab grade 8 hardware locally. It should save me atleast $100.00 over the poly kit.

I haven't done anything recent to the Jeep other than drive it due to the weather and attend Jeep club occasionally. We did get some recent snow here in MD, I am quite jealous of the more mountainous states that get a few feet, it would be alot of fun to go wheeling in.

I also noticed some binding with my drivers side door lock, can't wait to tear apart the door and figure out whats wrong.

Hopefully this weekend I will have a new to me DD/Tow Rig, if not I will have a few extra dollars for some Jeep mods.
