Looking at adding a 4 dr to the stable and yours is starting to look even BETTER! The Trektop is the best top for 4 doors outside of the super expensive Wild Boar.

Thanks! I agree, with the Trek top NX it no longer looks like another soccer mom SUV.

Got started on my front bumper. I was able to get it sanded and a coat of etching primer on.

My Superwinch on LJ has been champ and heavily used, so my original plan had been to put a Superwinch, Talon 12.5i SR on the JK. Then I got to doing a little winch research and saw the 530 amp draw of that winch. Here's a thread I posted with my comparison chart,

I was mainly looking at Warn or Superwinch but narrowed it down either the Zeon 10-s or the 9.5 cti-s. Told the wife about the Warn rebate and how I would have to order before end of month, but also said I could get by without a winch. She roll her eyes and said "The way you wheel you need a winch!" Now here's the best part, warning: women's sale logic at work. I was studying my research trying to decided if I wanted to spend the $300 more for the 9.5cti. She said "with the rebate it's only $200 more than you would have spent, so get it". It's still $300 more but why argue and make her mad.

Called Dave at Northridge and ordered a winch.

finally got around to the install of the ACE rear bumper with tire carrier and ran into a problem. I order it without holes for lights but as you can see my bumper has holes. Talked to Jason at Krawl Off-Road about it. He apologized for the order mix up, and sent me a set of lights for the bumper.
Got to love good customer service.

Now to figure-out if I should wire them to come-on with the reverse lights or to a separate switch.

A separate switch would be more useful at the campsite or dealing with some joker riding your tail on the roadway.

thanks for reminder, the kit that came with the lights I put on my F150 has a three way switch that let me have lights, on, always off or on when in reverse.

I have to go study that harness.

Wife decided on accent color. Red and green are over used and she didn't want bumble bee with black and yellow, so we went with Blue.

Thanks!!

I've got 11 day to get ready for Two Rivers Jeep Club Illini 4x4 Safari on May 16th. They're a club in southern IL that maintains 14 private trails for their use and opens them for non-members during the safari.

UPS had a train delay so I did not get the stuff to move the rear plate to the tire or my CB and antenna stuff for this weekend. No way I can get everything done in time, got to work too.
CB installed
Rear plate moved
Rear bumper lights installed, (have to pull the bumper)
PSC fenders painted and mounted
diff covers installed.
35" MTRs put on.

Trying to figure-out if I go with stock tires and fenders or try to cut the stock fenders and put 35"s on.

Wow I didn't think I'd like the blue accent but that looks really good. That Safari run sounds fun but "Go Topless Day" is a huge event for our group at the Badlands on the 18th and I've committed but I'm checking the website link out.

If it wasn't for this trip I'd be at the Badlands with you. I've got an old camper at Summers Campground just north of town, spend a lot of weekends down there. Let me know the next time your headed that way.

got a few things done yesterday and today after work. Moved my plate and mounted the CB.

Used a Firestick side mount and a Wilson 4' flex antenna that's top loaded. Don't think I have to worry about breaking it on the trail.

Mounted the CB in the console. I like the idea of the CB in the top of the arm rest, but put it here since I could get it done faster.

I used 18x2 AWG in a rubber sheath for the power feeds direct to the battery. I also bought two grounding straps to go from the tire carrier to the bumper and bumper to frame. Without them I'm getting and SWR of 1.2 or lower on all channels. I might add them later.
