Thanks for the encouragement. I am having a lot of fun with it. I cruised around all weekend with the top off... great weather in Houston this past weekend. The wife is finally starting to see the benefit of owning a Jeep and starting to forget about all the money that goes in to it! Here's the JF shout out pic. Ha!

Sorry for th hijack OP. Looking good so far. I'm quite fond of khaki TJs.
Thanks for getting my back. I am very happy with my Teraflex products so far.

I always thought I wanted a black TJ... then I saw a Khaki Metallic Rubi rolling around in Houston that changed my mind. It had 35's on black powder-coated Moab's.

I have some big plans for the next 2 weeks or so... stay tuned. This weekend I will be repainting the flares and doing some work on my alarm system. Next week I will need to make a big decision. BFG KM2 33's or Savvy/JJ CA's.

I'll also be doing a DW update shortly.

Ordered the first 2 pieces of my TT today...

JKS 1" Motor Mount Lift
JKS 1.25" Body Lift

Going to call Gerald at Savvy tomorrow for a quote on some aluminum control arm beef.

It will probably be birthday (October) or Christmas before I can get the SYE and TW DS .

I have decided to hold off on tires until I get the suspension squared away. It is taking much self control...

As for a Death Wobble update...

After installing the new Upper CA bushings in the front axle housing, doing the ZJ tie rod upgrade and putting in a new drag link... all of my DW has disappeared. I can get up beyond 65 MPH on the interstate without issue.

Big thanks to Mr. Blaine at Savvy for helping me out. I plan on calling him tomorrow to thank him directly.

It's amazing what can happen in one day... Although my plan was to get control arms before tires, I found a deal on Craiglist that I couldn't pass up.

I got a set of Mikey Thompson Baja MTZs in 305/70/R16 on tj Moabs for $1050. Tires are in great condition still have 95-97% tread left.

image-3543519427.jpg

I got them balanced at NTB and slapped them on. Immediate problem... Rubbing on the front LCAs and too close for comfort at the rear upper coil spring buckets. I'm going to add some washers to the steering stops tomorrow and I will have to figure something out for the rear. Don't want to run spacers.

Also painted the passenger side fender flare and extended flare piece. I just put some Mothers Back to Black on the rear flares for now. When they fade again I'll take the off and paint them.

My JKS MML came in today. still waiting on the BL.

image-22606816.jpg

That's all for now.

Busy day today i got a lot done (for the slow pace that i usually work). First I did a front end alignment to get the new tires lined up. Centered the axle, reset the toe in to 1/8" in then centered the steering wheel. My second project was to finally install a door lock actuator for the tailgate lock. I didn't want wires going from the tub to the tail gate so I picked up a used third brake light jam contact assembly and wired it up from my alarm system's relay pack to power the actuator.

A bunch of parts came in today! Got the following items in:

JKS 1.25" Body Lift
Teraflex 0.75" Coil Spacers
Mopar Flat Bumper Caps
Painless Wiring 2 Wire Jam Tac for my passenger side door actuator

I hope to get it all installed this weekend... We'll see though. My desktop took a crap a few weeks ago so I need to spend some time fixing it for the wifey.

Stay tuned!

edit:

Couldn't wait on the bumper ends... So I ran out there and threw them on!

Thanks man!! I've been out of town this week and will be through the weekend so no updates. Parts are stacking up at my house though. New speedo gear just came in yesterday.

Nice build, jeep looks clean as it stands now. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Haven't had much time to work on the TJ lately. Life's been a bit busy lately and the wife's birthday is tomorrow... then mothers day. Hoping to get some work done next weekend. I did order a new tailgate lock mechanism cover from my local dealership. I broke the top tab off the other day while adjusting my lock actuator. Brick to head. Only $20 so not too bad. While I'm there I'll pick up a new speedo gear o-ring. I need to get front CA's ASAP. My pinion angle is off and I'm getting some front DL vibes. Don't want the vibes to cause u-joint or pinion seal problems down the road.

Update time. Still haven't had a whole lot of time to work on the Jeep. I gotta few things done last week that I thought I'd share.

First I went up to the Woodlands and did seem light off roading by my moms house.

image-2943195059.jpg

Then I came home and took off the doors for the first time ever.

image-1255196508.jpg

Had to store them in my guest room. Wife not too thrilled about that.

image-2335849491.jpg

Then I installed a new speedo gear to offset the 33's. Took me a couple times with the retaining fork thing to get it right.

image-1518207318.jpg

Then started installing A set of door jam tacs on my passenger side door to power my lock actuator.

Drilling template.

image-2027895534.jpg

Wiring. I like clean wiring so I take my time with it.

image-1605114839.jpg

Tub side finished. I'll finish the door side later. Now that the doors are off I can work on it inside the house!!!

image-2580750747.jpg

I still need to find time to install my body and motor mount lift as well as my front coil spacers to level out the stance. What I'd give for a week off...

Looks good. I just got my Khaki TJ a month ago, and I'm trying to find Moabs for it like yours.

Thanks man! Welcome back to Jeep ownership. I'd keep an eye on your local Craigs List. That's where i found mine. I still need one more for a spare...
