Picked up another zj front drive shaft today. I'm going to take it to get lengthened tomorrow.

For up front? Hmm I thought it was the xj shafts. I was going to try and find a tj one so its already the right size

XJ and zj front driveshaft are exactly the same. I would go with the TJ shaft but they are really hard to find at a jy

Installed the zj yoke

Then measured. My total length from tc to axle is 41" do I'll have to have the drive shaft lengthened 9".

Just curious to why you had to install a ZJ yoke. Are the ZJ driveshafts different from YJs?

With the dc joint you need a specific yoke

Do all YJs not come with front DC yokes?

Yup, I assume since the yj had the vacuum disconnect they didn't feel the front drive shaft needed it.

Uhhg, seems like I'm never going to get a good driveshaft. The shop is giving me crap about the length, telling me it will be too weak if it's lengthened to 41". I told them the stock yj driveshaft is like 39" long and they told me it must have been lengthened because the factory wouldn't do that. Sooooo, frustrating. After I proved to them I was correct, took the stock shaft up there and showed them, they then told me the zj driveshaft I brought had bad splines...... I guess I'll try to get it lengthened somewhere else.

Because of the thickness of tubing? The Tatton's that I ordered was 42.25" long, 2" .188 wall I think. Maybe it is only .120...

They said it was because of the od of the tube being small but after they saw the stock yj shaft I guess they changed there mind and tried to find something else for me to spend money on.
