Drag link is cut and test fitted. Just have to weld the bung and but a longer 5/8" bolt.

Looks good dude! Any particular reason you put the bolts in from underneath?

If your drag link heim fails and the DL gets pushed down, where will it land? Now, if it fails and pops up, where then?

...I don't think you need as long of bolts as you think you do.

Mail crawling.

Good point.

I know the bolts don't have to be that long. I plan to cut them down. I just didn't want rocks to scrape the nuts and threads making them hard to remove.

I don't see any rocks touching mine. I figure if they come loose at least the bolt will kind of hold the linkage together. I'd say as long as there are 2 threads after the nut you are good to go

I used nylon lock nuts too. Next time I pull them I will put some loctite on there too since I finally found it.

Right now I'll just have regular nuts with lock washers and lock tight

That's all Mr. Fastenal (Maertz) uses on his links and steering. Don't think he even uses lock washers.

Wow, I personally have to at least have the lock washer or else I'd be worried all the time.
