I haven't heard of that. I used an Advance Adapters SYE and I didn't have to press anything out. Just swap out parts...

I used a hammer and a brass punch. A press would be easier. I suppose check your new shaft when it comes, and the instructions

I used the RR one, and didn't have to mess with that.

Sorry to confuse anything, but I had to remove them and so did every writeup I read :O I guess you will find out when you go to put the drive sprocket on new shaft :P

I read the same thing. I believe on some older model 231s there was some minor trimming involved as well, although mine bolted right in with no issue.

Just read as many write ups as you can to see where others may have had to taylor the install for their model year.

Damn... make sure you mark the speedo gears location, apparently there are 4 ways to install (just read that today).... havent had a working speedo in about 7 months since i installed my SYE! Just rebuilt the transmission and realigned the speedo gear well see tomorrow if i got it correct this time lol!

Thanks for the info guy's. I have access to a press at school if I end up needing to press the bearings out. Still waiting on the kit though.


On another note things are looking good right now.



Also scored 100% on my first test at school
