starter went out today, thankfully i was able to get to autozone. changed it right there in the parking lot. Used some silicon to seal up a gap. not sure why the gap was there, wasnt there with the old starter.
this is my latest adventure/ / mishap had to leave it there over night and come get it in the morning by myself with 2 hi-lifts and 2 tow straps. Also had my first breakage on the trail, my rear cross member.
just rebuilt my rear cross member, used a 40 dollar piece of quarter inch thick angle. WAY stronger then it ever was, im very happy with the outcome. Im going to put some gussets in there before i put on a bumper for some extra support.(dont think i really need to though)
well it looks like the next thing I have to do to the old jeep is replace all my body mounts. I am definitely not looking forward to this but this should be the last very large and unpleasant job to be done to it. Im going to have to rebuild the back two mounting brackets that are connected to the body because those are totally eaten away buy rust and then comes the task of getting all the bolts out in one peace. I cant see more then one coming out with out braking off first, lots of welded nuts are in my future. I am going to go with a 1 in BL, looks good and cost the same as a stock body mount kit.
