Back Where I Belong (2005 LJ Build)

Hey everybody, after a long 3 years I'm back where I belong. I found a 2005 LJ 6 speed, one owner, garaged, and the best part 39k on the clock This is not my first jeep though, my first one was a 2001 TJ sport. I put a 4" RC LA lift, 33" duratracs, smittybuilt front stinger w/ xrc8 winch with synthetic line, warn rear swing out, drop down tailgate, raptor lined tube, and full audio system. I learned a lot during that build and everything I learned I am transferring over to this build. I am going to be a senior in college so I am making this a 2 stage build since funds won't be great for a little while. So here's a basic overview of what I have planned out. Enjoy

Stage 1:

Suspention/Wheels
-2" BDS Spring lift (Done)
-ZJ Tie Rod
-JK Rubicon Moab Wheels (Done)
-255/75/17 Firestone Destination MT (Done)

Interior
-6 1/2" Polk DB in sound pods (Done)
-5 1/4" Polk Components in dash w/tweeter mounting bracket (Nalin)
-Alpine amp (Mounted under steering column)
-10" sub in trunk (Custom under seat set-up/Center consol eventually)
-Drake offroad shift knob (Done)
-Alpine BT Head-unit
-Alpine Power-pack amplifier

Exterior
-Remove milk jugs and cap both bumpers (Done)
-Paint headlight bezels (Done)
-Paint flares black
-Truck-lite LED headlights
-Remove side steps (Done)

I hope to complete this throughout the semester

Stage 2:

Suspension/Wheels
-1.25" JKS body lift
-JKS motor mount lift
-Currie anti-rock
-35/12.50/15 Goodyear MTR w/kevlar

Exterior
-Poison Spyder front bumper w/ brawler bar
-Saavy gas tank skid
-Saavy slidders w/ step
-Under cover fab tummy tuck
-Poison Spyder steering skid
-Tailgate reinforcement tire carrier
-Metalcloak F/R with 6" flares
-Banks monster cat back

Driveline
-AA SYE
-Tom Woods driveshaft
-4.56 gears

Lighting
-LED rear taillights
-50" LED light bar above windshield

So that's that! Hopefully you guys enjoy my journey as much as I do

This weekend I picked up a set of JK Moabs wrapped in 255/75/17 Firestone Destination MT's for FREE So I purchased Rough Country wheels adapters and had the new shoes mounted and balanced today. Also removed the factory side steps.

I think the 2" will look great with the new tires/wheels.

Thank you, I think so too. For a stage 1 build I think it will sit nice. Not too aggressive but much better than the goofy stock set-up.

Ordered a 2" BDS suspension lift yesterday. Should be installing it once I'm home for winter break.

Subscribed! I'm thinking about the BDS 2" lift on my LJ myself.

Finally got the lift installed. Broke two rear shock uppers, but other than that it went smooth. So far I'm loving the way this kit rides!
