Not trying to bust your balls, but looking up from the bottom seeing you freak out about it was pretty funny. Once you get more experience you are going to look back and laugh your butt off at it.

Coal Creek is July 12-15. I will have an open passenger seat if your jeep isn't ready by then. Would need to know if you can come soon so I can reserve a space in one of the rooms. Don't have many openings left.

Actually gonna be doing a little wheeling near my house tonight. . . . I'll have some good pics then.

Soft top is pretty good. NO leaks and it's quiet enough.

Anybody interested in a hardtop???

Right now, I'm trying to sell my hardtop. Hopefully I'll get around $800 or $900. If so, my next project will be the 4.88 regear, which I'll be doing myself.

In addition, there is a possiblility that I will have the time to do a front axle swap to an HP D30. The local junkyard wants $145 for an HP housing, so it almost doesn't make any sense to NOT swap it in. The whole question would be if I have the time to have my Jeep incapacitated for a weekend or more. Worst case, I'll just do the gears. . . . we will have to see how my schedule works out over the next few weeks.

Here's the long-awaited pics. Not wheeling pics, but oh well. I've been so busy preparing to move to NCSU I've had very little Jeep time. However, I did sell my hardtop, so that was some good news. Got $1025 for it, so it looks like you have actually made me some money for once Jankoid.

I done a bad thing this week and got a mostly semi cosmetic mod that I've been wanting for a long time. . . . a Poison Spyder hood louver. Looks like it's due in on Tuesday, and of course I'll be installing immediately. This time, I'll actually post pics within a timely manner!

That would look good, but no. Paint will not stick well to that surface. Just get new rims when it is time to get new tires. You need 8" wide rims anyways

Well Jake, this'll make one of the few times I didn't listen to your advice! Went ahead and painted my rims yesterday and today. Looks awesome. I used 80GT sandpaper, lacquer thinner, and industrial etching acid to prep the aluminum. A few coats of self-etching primer and gloss black later, I have some wheels that look brand new. If it peels, I'll be shocked outta ****.

I installed the PSC louver this evening, going to put the hood on tomorrow morning. Left it bare, I'll ride around like that for a while and paint it if I decide I don't like it.

Thank you! The way I see it, all painted metal was bare at one time. Surface prep is definitely crucial - the aluminum was really etched and deglossed when I laid on the first coat of primer. If it peels, so what, I'll paint those *****es again

Looks great man! The PSC hood louver is really ranking pretty high on my next mod list, thanks for the pics! I want to leave mine raw finish as well. I think it will look good with the inner fenders of the MetalCloaks and Aluminum Savvy half doors I'm getting. Rims look good, hope it holds up for you.
