Pssh, y'all should try following me around at Windrock. You'd never see me again once we left paved road.

No way. One time at Uwharrie is enough to teach me not to follow you. . . . still cleaning dust from the air vents

Time for an update. Got a great deal on a Rugged Ridge winch from CSE offroad just after Thanksgiving. The front springs sagged about an inch after the install, so I put in some coil spacers with a little help from a bulldozer.

Finally going to get some wheeling done this weekend at a place near Uwharrie called Big Creek. Pictures guaranteed!

Oh, and got to test out the winch yesterday. Dad found a massive amount of junk metal on a lot my uncle plans to build a house. There was even an old car (Morris Motors - apparently a pre-British Leyland export company). Winch didn't have much trouble moving it out.

Did find out that the winch is quite a battery drain, though. Just fifteen or so minutes of intermittent operation with the ignition off completely killed it.

I always winch with the engine running, and usually my foot on the gas if possible.

Yep, learned my lesson with that one. I got to doing the same and had no issues. Glad I learned about that while working off the trails instead of during an actual recovery.

Finally getting around to posting pics from the Big Creek icebreaker. I did a custom sunroof mod on a tree while I was there, so I got a new top sooner than I expected! Pretty happy with the frameless top, and I really like how it looks and how quiet it is even at highway speeds. Windows were a serious pain in the *** to get in, though.

In other news, I've picked up a Rugged Ridge SYE for cheap off Amazon, which should be coming in this week. I'm going to be picking up a high clearance skid and driveshaft soon too, so this spring break I should be rid of the stock shovel!

Great looking TJ sir! Digging the all black look. A Ruger's a great mod for any Jeep.
