Back with another TJ

I used to have a 2000 Sahara, but moved to a 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland...then moved to a 2005 Grand Cherokee with a HEMI. Now back into the TJ game when I bought a 1997 this past winter as a toy! (After looking for 6 months)

1997 TJ Sport. 4" Lift. Mickey Thompson 33" Tires, Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels powder coated black, Cobra CB, KC HiLites Windshield Lights, Hella Driving lights....

Pictures from the ad (2007-10-24)...

First round of mods

2007-12-11 ->
First round of mods...
- wider fender flares
- bought some TuffStuff to cover some "bad" areas of the TJ

Oh how I forgot how much stuff one can do with a TJ....and how stubborn bolts and screws can be!

I like it, Alot of lights! You almost have me beat, but I got 4 over the windshield and 2 on the bumper

Those last pictures make it look kind of like mine, I have the same top set up. You will get soaked though if you drive that in heavy rain, the "cab corners" are wide open. I do not have seat covers though, I simply bought new seats

More fun...

Added a locking glove box and added the extra rocker switchs to my console. Painted my center dash bezel black at the same time.

I've ordered a new rear bumper with a tire carrier....so got to play with Herculiner again....

I read a lot about Herculiner..... the write-ups are all on the money when they say that it's mostly prep work. I'm lucky enough to tear it apart and drive the Cherokee. It took a solid weekend to do everything. 1 1/2 days of prep work....and the remaining 1/2 day to actually line it. But I'm really happy with the results. It was a roll on kit.....and I didn't manage to paint myself too much...ha.

I have a motorcycle I can ride while my jeep is ripped apart and I can put my seats in in under 10 minutes if I need to drive it. I also found it looks cool if you remove the plastic thing around the shifters. Gives it a more cj feel! All your work loooks good. Like I said I am going to get it sprayed on, I know people

I was waffling about spraying vs. rolling. I think I was put at ease a little by seeing a few local roll-on examples that looked pretty good. I do know that despite having a good flow of air...that stuff is powerfully stinky and can make your brain hurt!

My Yamaha R1 was what I sold to go with the TJ. If I could rent one perhaps 3 times a summer, I'd have my speed/excitement fix completely appeased...
