Today I replaced my bent POS body mounts with new one's from SWAG off road. These things are BEEEEEFEEEE!!!

They only come for a TJ, but all you have to do is cut about a 1" off the frame side to fit. My band saw worked great!

I have a 1" body lift on the Jeep right now, what I did was cut about 1" off the body mount (or you could use the stock height mount) to move the new bracket up on the frame as high as possible.

Still enjoying the build Caddyman! Great work! I wish I had taken a look at those body mounts when I did my tub off a couple of years ago. No doubt they have some beef to them!

Those body mounts are very intense. Something I may look at in the future. I've smashed a couple of mine on rocks so the sides are caved in some. I don't think those will cave in like the stock ones.

These are formed from 3/16 plate, I'm thinking that my frame will give up before these body mounts do

After seeing your rig in the PS thread, had to come over and take a look. You're getting it done right and no cutting corners that I see. Looks awesome and really looking forward to seeing the rig moving.

Ok, since I didn't win a free set of PS fenders. Congrats again to Louie4 for winning the PS fenders.

I'm going to start making my own I think, I will start tonight and will post pictures up soon! There is a few things about my YJ's front grill, hood and current tube fenders I have that I would like to change, no time like the present! Pictures to follow..........

Here's where I'm at on the front fender.

I wanted to go make hi-line fenders, I really never liked the front hood/grill on my Jeep. I wanted to try and make it a little more sloped downward from the cowl to the front bumper, not a lot just a little. Mine grill and front of the hood seemed to be higher than the cowling.

I lowered the front grill/radiator assembly 1" (bascicly removed the 1" body mount's) Leaned the top of the grill/radiator back and cut my hood about 3" (as far as I could). Got the tubing bent, formed the mounting plates, cut the sheet metal and made the opening for the insert for the side panel.

part 2 of the front HiLine fenders

I picked up a couple of OEM doner fenders off CL for $10 each. I'm going to try and use the inner fender on my tube fenders, not sure how they will work the HiLine"s that I making but for $20 it's worth a try.

I also made the cut out for the side fender insert. I have everything mocked up tonight and should start welding tomorrow..........
