AND Another LJ Rubicon Thread

Not much of a build thread since the LJ I bought is very well built but I plan to use this Jeep a lot here in Colorado so I figured I'd make a thread documenting my trips and additions to the LJ.

Where to begin...I have been out of a Jeep for over 2 years and it was killing me. I began looking for JK's and LJ's that were within driving distance and my price range. After looking hard at JK's, I decided that it wasnt for me, due to price and size. The LJ better suited my needs for now. After many Jeep deals that fell through, I found one that had been on the market for a while, was built very well, and within my price range. I booked a ticket to KC, MO and bought a Jeep, then drove it back 600 miles to Denver.

I purchased this 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited

The list of mods is extensive.
4'' Currie Suspension w/ Bilstien Shocks and front Anti-Rock
Front end Johnny Joint housing Kit
Johnny Joint rear tracbar w/ housing bracket
Currie CurrectLync HD Tie Rod System
Savvy 1.25'' Body Lift
Savvy LJ Rockers w/ 4130 Chromoly Steel Slider
Savvy LJ Corner Armor
Savvy LJ Stainless Steel tub rails
Savvy Aluminum Gas Tank Skid
Savvy Aluminum Tailgate Skin (not installed)
Savvy Aluminum Tailgate Valance (not installed)
Savvy Off Road Front Bumper
Savvy Off Road Receiver Bumper
Savvy LED Tails (not installed)
Savvy Rear License Plate Relocation Bracket (not installed)
Summit Racing 15x10 Wheels
35x12.50/15 Goodyear MTR Kevlar's
Superior Evolution Rear Axleshafts
Blue Torch Fab Diff Covers
AEV Differential Skid
Homemade Belly Up Skid Plate
Homemade Front Fenders (DeFender knock offs)
Alloy USA Front Axle Seals
Black Magic Brakes
Tom Woods HD Rear Driveshaft
Hand Throttle (which I didnt think I'd like but I REALLY like it)
Warn Steering Box Skid

My future mods...which usually always changes is something like - Spydura Synthetic winch rope, Aluminum Fairlead, Wireless winch remote, 513's, ATX Slabs, 37's, PSC Hydro Assist, Alloy shafts or RCV's for the front. Then an AW4 and Genright 3 and 4links.

Once I got it home, I put the Body Armor rear tire carrier and bumper on CL and it sold the next day. I ordered the Savvy Aluminum Rear Receiver bumper and bolted it on. The weight savings was insane. The Jeep use to ride nose high. Now its completely level.

Got the bumper on and loaded up the dogs and the wife and hit my first Colorado Trail. Metberry Gulch. Very scenic and nothing very challenging. Jeep handled great.

Nice Rubi, front fenders look great. You should post some info on how you made them and pics if you have any.

Rusty I bought the Jeep with the fenders. The previous owner hand built them. he did a great job but unfortunately they are very heavy and will be sold off for some Rokmen Highlines or if Poison Spyder will ever put the DeFender Aluminum Highlines into production.
